BREMNER-BARRETT, Cyndi-Lin - 35, Yarmouth, died Friday, March 1, 2002. Born Oct. 15, 1966, in Digby, she was the daughter of Reg BREMNER, Digby and Valerie BREMNER-DEXTER, Weymouth. She spent her early years at Green Island, Yarmouth Co. and Western Light, Brier Island, where her father was a lighthouse keeper. She attended Digby and Halifax schools and lived in Halifax for much of her life, moving back home to Digby with her family in 1998. She is survived by husband, Keith BARRETT; son, Jeremiah; brothers, Tony BREMNER (Dana), Truro; Adam BREMNER, Digby; Matthew BREMNER (Michelle), Calgary, Alta. Visitation Monday, March 4, 2- 4, 7-9 p.m. in H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth, where funeral will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, Captain Stephen KENNEDY officiating. Interment will follow in Bayview Baptist Cemetery, Bayview, Digby Co. Donations to Jeremiah Barrett Christian Education Fund, at the Royal Bank,Yarmouth Branch.

BROWN, Paul Lloyd - 77, Tideview Terrace, Digby, died Friday, March 1, 2002, in the home. He was born in Yarmouth and worked as a taxi driver in the Yarmouth area for many years. He served overseas in the Second World War with the Cape Breton Highlanders. He was a life member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 67, Weymouth. He enjoyed playing pool. He is survived by his wife, the former Addie Frances HUBBARD; daughter, Brenda MCQUAKER, Brampton, Ont.; three grandchildren; four great- grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his first wife, Marie, sons, Shawn and Larry. Visiting will be Monday, March 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Jayne's Funeral Home, Digby, where the funeral will be held Tuesday, March 5 at 2 p.m., followed by a Legion tribute, Pastor Muriel FRANKLAND will officiate. Margie was an active member of the Scotia Chapter of the I.O.D.E. During the Second World War, she was a photographer with the R.C.A.F. Margie's pride and joy were her three shelties, Sheba, Taz and Bast. She is survived by her husband, Ross; sons, Brian (Ann), Kanata, Ont.; Robert (Chris), Ottawa; several grandchildren; sister, Ethel, Deep Brook. She was predeceased by her brothers, Jack, Walter; a sister. He is survived by daughters, Carole NICKERSON, Overton; Iris JOHNSON, St. Catharines, Ont.; Crystal (James) MCDORMAND, Westport, Digby Co.; sons, Burton (Nettie), Port Maitland; David (Anne) Walker, Bridgewater; brother, Murray, Freeport, Digby Co.; sister, Arlene HERSEY, Tiverton, Digby Co.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Born in Waterford, Digby Co., he was a son of the late Watson and Helen ( ROBICHEAU ) LEWIS. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Digby. Fred was a carpenter and fisherman most of his life. He served overseas during the Second World War in the Navy as a leading Seaman and was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 20, Digby. Fred worked at CFB Cornwallis for 25 years as a carpenter and cabinet maker. He will be sadly missed by many relatives and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice; his children, Richard (Yvonne), Burlington, Ont.; Lealand (Karen), Deep Brook, Annapolis Co.; Judy ( DWIGHT ), Bridgetown; brothers, Henry, Lovett, James, Gordon; sisters, Viva, Ida, Laura; ten grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren. Surviving are his common-law wife, Eleanor COOK; daughters, Mary MACCORMACK and Claudette DURAN, both of Weymouth; Alma CORKUM, Bridgewater; Ruth LOMBARD, Ashmore, Digby Co.; Annette HENDERSON, Truro; Dorothy STEVENS and Moura TAYLOR, both of Annapolis; Tanya, Digby; stepdaughter, Linda RUDOLPH, Belliveau Cove; son, Ralph Jr., Owen Sound, Ont.; stepsons, Gary BROWN, Meteghan Station; Allan and Bobby BROWN, both of Weymouth; sisters, Dorothy MACCORMACK, Weymouth; Ruth MELANSON, Plympton; Mary Esther BOUCHER, Kentville; brothers, Clifford DOUCETTE, Gilberts Cove; Gifford and Reginald, both of Weymouth; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. He was a certified chef, having cooked at Braemar Lodge, the Lobster Trap restaurant, the Austrian Inn restaurant and Rodd Colony Inn. He also taught cooking at Nova Scotia Community College, Burridge Campus, Yarmouth. He served six years with the Black Watch at Camp Gagetown. He was a past member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 61, Yarmouth. Surviving are his wife, the former Leona LEFAVE; son, John Charles (Cindy) SURETTE, Anaheim, Calif.; brothers, Joseph Hallett (Leo) SURETTE, New Glasgow; Stanley SURETTE, Ontario; Alfred Joseph SURETTE, Yarmouth; Donald Charles SURETTE, Ontario; sisters, Nora May "Florence" THOMAS, Digby; Mary Anna LEBLANC, Yarmouth; Elizabeth Margaret "Betty" THOMAS, Digby; one grandchild. He was predeceased by son, Joey; a brother in childhood. Visitation in H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. Born Sept. 4, 1909, in Church Point, she was a daughter of the late Phillippe and Agnes (BELLIVEAU) GAUDET. She was a homemaker and she enjoyed sharing her knowledge of crocheting, tatting and quilting with others. She was a member of Le Club Acadian, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are nieces, Yvette (Agno) THIBAULT, St. Joseph, Digby Co.; Agnes (Owen) ATKINSON, Wedgeport; Joan (George) SEMPLE, Anne CAIN, both of Yarmouth; nephew, Paul LEBLANC, Weymouth Mills. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent BABIN; son, Robert in infancy; several brothers and sisters. There will be no visitation by request. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service was Wednesday, April 24, in Saint Anne's Roman Catholic Church, Ste. Anne-du- Ruisseau, Father Cr�pin KHONDE officiating. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. Donations to Saint Anne's Roman Catholic Church or the parish cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Yarmouth.

She is survived by daughters, Sharon (Mrs. Fred RANDALL), Kemptville, Yarmouth Co.; Annette (Alan) MACLEOD, Yarmouth; son, Thomas "Kent" (Elaine), Port Maitland; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas "Tom"; brother, Adolphe; sisters, Laura COMEAU, Florence SAULNIER, Zoe DEVEAU. No visitation by request. Funeral was Saturday, April 27 in Sweeny's Funeral Chapel, Yarmouth, Father Chinedu CHUCKWU officiating. Interment will be in Port Maitland Cemetery. THOMAS, Frank Ernest - 80, passed away on April 25th 2002, at the Digby General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in St. Stephen, NB, he was the son of the late Chesley and Kathleen (BOUNCIE) THOMAS. He was a member of the Freeport Baptist Church. Frank served in the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry during World War II from 1938-1945 in the United Kingdom, France and Germany as a Lance Corporal. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #92 in Freeport, which he was a past vice president. He was past President of the Seniors Club of Freeport. He is survived by his wife, the former Marie PERRY. Daughter Deborah THOMAS of Digby; son, Roger, of Freeport; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his brother, Hubert. The funeral was held at the Freeport Baptist Church on Sunday April 28th, the Rev. Robert MacCormack officiating, with burial in the Brookside Cemetery. A Legion tribute took place during the service. Donations to be made to the Freeport Baptist Church.

He retired as an engineer from Princess of Acadia after 28 years. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Saulnierville Branch 52. He enjoyed playing cards, camping and being in the woods, as well as being with family. Surviving are his wife, the former M. Therese BLINN; daughters, Louise (Stewart) AMERO, Plympton; Juliette (Brian) COMEAU, Belliveaus Cove; Janette DOUCET, Sackville; sons, Gerard (Mary), St. Barnard; Antoinne "Tony" (Tammy), David (Cindy), both of Grand Bay, N.B.; brother, Dr. Felix DOUCET, Weymouth; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Gerard DOUCET; sisters, Corinne SAULNIER, Roseanne DOUCET; grandson, Paul AMERO. Cremation has taken place. Funeral will be at a later date. Donations to Yarmouth Regional Hospital Dialysis Unit.
