ROBINSON, Jean Doris - Digby, died February 10, 1996, in Digby General Hospital. Born in Digby, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Doris (MUNROE) ROBINSON. She was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, Digby, and the church choir for many years. She received her certification in pharmacy from Dalhousie School of Pharmacy in 1940 and was employed with C.M. Levy Rexall Pharmacy for 35 years. Surviving are brothers, Frank Jr., Robert, Digby; sister, Ena ROBINSON, Digby; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, Roy. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Jayne's Funeral Home, 7 Birch St., Digby. Funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday in Trinity Anglican Church, Digby, Rev. Mark MARSHALL officiating. She was a member of the Grace United Church and was a volunteer for the Red Cross for many years. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. LANDRY, Lawrence Leonard - 73, Halifax, passed away peacefully January 21, 1997, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, VG Site. He was born and lived his life at Purcells Cove, and was the son of the late William and Edith (WHITE) LANDRY. He served during the Second World War in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. In 1984, he retired after 30 years of service as a firefighter with the Department of National Defence. Surviving are his loving wife, Edna (LEVY); sons, Brian, Beaverbank; James, Sackville; daughter, Kathy (Mrs. Graham ARCHIBALD), Ottawa; son-inlaw, John CARTER, Sackville; brothers, Kenneth, Beaverbank; Basil, Halifax; sisters, Millie (Mrs. Maurice BURNS), Mabel (Mrs. Vincent BOURQUE), both of Halifax; Vivian (Mrs. Alfred THIBAULT), Digby; grandchildren, Aaron, Michael, Kelly, Mark, Craig, Jeffrey and Lisa; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter, Donna (Mrs. John CARTER), Sackville. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, who will always be affectionately remembered and sadly missed by all. HICKSON, Esther M. - Framingham, Mass., died recently in St. Patrick's Nursing Home, Framingham. Born September 4, 1900, she was the eldest child of the late George and Maude HANKINSON, formery of Weymouth, Digby Co. She attended Weymouth Academy and graduated from Mount Allison University. For several years she worked as a secretary in Plaster Rock, N.B., and later graduated as a registered nurse and X-ray technician from Lynn Hospital, Lynn, Mass. In later years, she worked at Cambridge Hospital, Mass., as an infirmary nurse for students. She was a member of Belmont Street Baptist Church, Watertown, Mass. Surviving are daughters, Marlene McTAGGART; sons Harvey, and Donald, all of the United States; sisters, Klara JOHNSON, Weymouth; Grace SPARKS, Springfeild, Mo.; brothers, Curtis, Bridgetown, Annapolis Co.; Kenneth, Weymouth; several grandchilden. She was predeceased by her husband, Harvey; sister; Margaret WAGNER; brothers, Scott, Tom, and George HANKINSON. Burial was held in Cedar Memorial Cemetery, Cambridge.

She was predeceasd by her husband Ainsley, her son Walter of Digby,4 brothers AND 4 sisters. She is survived by her six daughters - Mildred(Harold SIMMS) of Digby, Mary and Eldora of Montreal, Elaine of Toronto, Rose (Ken FRANCIS) and Phyllis of Annapolis Royal AND sons Nelson (Evangeline) and Ainsley (Beatrice) of Digby. Also are left behind 29 Grandchildren, 40 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Cremation has takn place. Arthur L EVERETT, 78, of Digby, died Feb. 11 1998 in Digby General Hospital. Born in Digby, he was a son of the late Aubrey and Janette (HAZELTON) EVERETT. He was a retired office clerk, working with CN Marine for 40 years. He was a former member of the Digby Lions Club in which he held several offices, and a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 20, Digby. He acted as Santa Claus for the Children's Training Centre, Tideview Terrace, Digby General Hospital and the community. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Dorothea COMEAU, Digby. He was predeceased by an infant sister, Doreen, and a brother Robert. The body has been cremated. Burial will be at a later date in Fairview Cemerery. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.

After moving to Weymouth, he became parts manager for 27 years at Weymouth Motors Ltd., a business operated by his brother, Ken. He was an avid gardener, supplying produce to many in his community. He was a devoted father and husband, and strong in his faith. Survived by his wife, the former Vera TUPPER; sons, David and wife Linda, Toronto; Roger and wife Marguerite, Weymouth; daughter Jane and husband John, Steinbach, Man.; sisters, Klara JOHNSON, Weymouth; Grace SPARKS, Springfeild, Mo.; brother Ken, Weymouth; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchilden. 1998 Leta Aris Savary Delaney

DELANEY (SAVARY), Leta Aris - 95, Port Maitland, Yarmouth Co., died in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on December 7, 1998. Born at Cedar Lake, Digby Co., she was the only daughter of the late Murray SAVARY and Amy (REEVES) SAVARY JENNINGS. She was predeceased by her brother, Wade SAVARY. When she was a young girl the family moved to Costa Rica for a short time while her father was employed by that government. In 1922, while living in Cliftondale, Mass., she married Frederick DELANEY of Richmond, Yarmouth Co. The couple returned to Nova Scotia the following year and settled in Port Maitland soon thereafter, where Frederick eventually passed away in 1972. They had one son (Theodore, now deceased). Mrs. Delaney is survived by grandchildren, Mrs. Linda GAILEY, Plainfield, Conn.; Judy, David and Daniel DELANEY, Andover, Mass.; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. As a fervent lover of nature, Mrs. DELANEY was very much at home in the woods, on the beach or in her garden. She and her husband spent many happy winters in their camp at Cedar Lake. She was extremely fond of animals and had been a member of the Nova Scotia Bird Society, and a supporter of the SPCA. She was also a member of the Bonnie Briar Rebekah Lodge, St. Andrew's Society, High Hopes Seniors' Club and the Bahai Faith. An avid reader, she was particularly fond of poetry, as well as music and dancing. Cremation will take place under the direction of Sweeny's Funeral Home. Interment will be at Port Maitland and Beaver River Cemetery.

Vern was a retired employee of fifty years for CN.CP. Telecommunications, served in the Royal Canadian Air Force, was a member of the Canadian Military Heritage Museum, a lifetime member of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Society, a member of Morse Telegraphers Society, Maple Leaf Chapter, and avid skater. A memorial service will be held at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave. Brantford on Wednesday Dec 30, at 2:00 PM. Reception to follow. TIDD, Frank (Hazen)- 73, Nictaux, died January 13, 1999, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Little River, Digby County, he was a son of the late Shirley and Helena (TRASK) TIDD. He was a member of the Middleton United Baptist Church; former carpentry instructor at Annapolis Regional Vocational School and a veteran of the Second World War. Surviving are his wife, the former Ella FROST; daughters, Cheryl (Mrs. John TUFTS) Paradise; Bonnie (Mrs. John WOOLER), Karsdale; sons, Randy, Digby; Kevin and wife Terry, Deep Brook; sisters, Freda (Mrs.Lawrence TRASK) and Avis GIDNEY, both of Little River; grandchildren, Andrew, Peter, Sarah, Scott, Craig, Amanda, and Katie. He was predeceased by brother Rex. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton. Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Middleton United Baptist Church,Rev.Dr. Byron FENWICK officiating. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Canadian Diabetes Association or charity of choice.

DEVEAU, Virginia - 78, Meteghan, Digby Co., died November 16, 1998, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Corberrie, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Evangeline (DEVEAU) GAUDET. Surviving are son, Jean, Church Point; daughters, Eileen (Mrs. Omer BOUDREAU), Fall River; Karen DEVEAU, Auburn; Jeannette (Mrs. Arnold HILL), Saulnierville; brother, Irving, Sackville; sister, Marguerite ROBICHAUD, Lynn, Mass.; seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward; brothers, Henry, Daley; sisters, Leah, Lorette, Agnes, Hilda, Lucie. Funeral was held November 19, 1998 in Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Meteghan, Rev. Gerald LEBLANC officiated. Burial in the parish cemetery. Donations to the cardiac care unit ot the QEII Health Sciences Centre.

WEIR, Alexander Edward "Ted" - 72, Digby, died February 14, 1999, in Digby General Hospital. Born in Digby, he was a son of the late G. Reginald and Barbara Calder (BANKS) WEIR. He was an active member of Digby United Baptist Church; member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 20; Kings Soloman Masonic Lodge, and active member of Digby Historical Society, Digby Horticultural Society, Digby Tree Committee and Digby Hospice Society. Surviving are sister, Jean MACMILLAN, Digby; two nieces; four nephews; several grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by brother, G. Robert. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m., legion service 7 p.m., Masonic service 7:30 p.m., all today in Jayne's Funeral Home, 7 Birch St., Digby. Funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday in Digby United Baptist Church, Rev.
