Born in Freeport, Digby Co., she was a daughter of the late William and Mary (THOMAS) PYNE. She was a member of Freeport Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Aid, Freeport. A lifetime member of the Fair Isle Rebekah Lodge 92 and a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 92 Ladies Auxilliary. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by son Malcolm and wife Muriel, Freeport; daughter, Eunice and husband Ron, Brighton, Digby County; grandson Darin; several nieces and one nephew. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence; sisters, Gladys, Emma, Esther; brothers, William, Walter, Sanford. ISLES, Andrew Boyd - 76, Bear River, died October 10, 2001, at home. Born November 2, 1924, in the family home, he was the fourth eldest son of the late Arthur Max and Mary Myrtle (CLAES) ISLES. Andrew Boyd was self-employed as a journeyman mason for over 40 years. His vocation included brick laying, plastering, stucco and stone work specializing in brick and stone fireplaces throughout Nova Scotia and the Annapolis Valley. He always took a great interest in farming, beef cattle. He was also interested in hunting, fishing and relaxing at his cabin or at his woodlot in Morganville. Surviving are son, Leslie H., Bear River; brothers, R. Arthur and wife Megan, Robert J. and wife Dorothy, Fred and wife Judy, all of Bear River; Kenneth M. and wife Barbara, Mount Uniacke; Gerald L. and wife Clara, Clementsvale; sisters, Myrtle GORDON, Bear River; Edna M. and husband Wayne MORGAN, Upper Clements; Nancy Jean and husband Bill ELLWOOD, East River; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She then moved to the United States where she lived until her retirement from Necco. She returned to Plympton with her husband Henry in 1972. Henry died in 1977 after 55 years of marriage. He was a devoted fisherman of 40 years. He loved the sea and telling his fishing stories. During his fishing years, he was owner and captain of the MV "Miss Stormy and "Jimmy L". He is survived by daughters, Brenda (Peter) MELANSON, Marshalltown; Debbie PYNE, Vancouver; Julie PYNE, Digby; sisters, Geraldine (Victor) ETTINGER, Kingston; Joan DOUGLAS, Belleville, Ont.; Anne WINCHESTER, Regina, Sask.; brothers, Bev (Donna) and Dean (Christine), both of Seabrook; many nieces and nephews; missed by special friend, Lillian ROBICHEAU. He was predeceased by sister, Eva BOWER; infant brother, Jerry Raye. A private family service along with staff and residents of Tideview Terrace will be held 2 p.m. today, February 8, in Tideview. POWELL, Hartley Wallace - 89, Weymouth, died Thursday, February 7, 2002, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born In Tiverton, Digby Co., he was the son of the late Arthur and Ella May (DENTON) POWELL. As an accountant, he began his career in Digby at the Bank of Nova Scotia, moving to the shipyards in Weymouth, then on to Lunenburg Foundry & Engineering, Lunenburg. He received a civil service position with the Nova Scotia government, Hospital Tax Division as a Tax Auditot and remained there until his retirement. He was a long-time accountant for A. F. THERIAULT and Sons Ltd., Metaghan River and Frankland Canning Co., Church Point. He operated an insurance and real estate company, Weymouth Agencies Ltd. and prepared personal income tax returns for many years. He was appointed by the province as a commissioner of oaths and Justice of the Peace, which he held for 20 years. Upon his retirement, he was appointed to several advisory boards with the provincial government of Nova Scotia. He was a charter member of Weymouth Kiwanis Club, 1956, and through the years had received many honors. He was an avid curler, having been a member of the Lunenburg and Yarmouth Curling Clubs. He had been a lifelong member of Tiverton United Baptist Church and throughout the years had held different offices at Heartz Memorial United Church, Weymouth. Surviving are his wife, the former Alice Edna PAYSON; daughters, Louise (Roger) MULLEN, Weymouth North; Virginia (Arnold) BELL, Weymouth North; Ann (Yvon) ROBICHAUD, Weymouth; grandchildren, Greg (Ainsley), Geoff, Tim, Jeremy MULLEN, Kim and Stephen BELL, Suzanne, Christopher and Sarah ROBICHAUD; a very dear cousin Claire (Tom) DELANCEY, Berlin, Mass.; nieces and nephews. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Jayne's Funeral Home, Weymouth North. Funeral service 2 p.m. Monday in St. Matthews Anglican Church, Weymouth Falls, Rev. Jane Clattenburg officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society.

THIBAULT, Juliette Marie Madeleine, B.A., B. Ed. - 87, Church Point, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, at home. Born in Saulnierville, she was a daughter of the late Isiah and Frances (SURETTE) SAULNIER. She was a graduate of Normal College, Truro and taught for over 35 years. She was a volunteer worker for various organizations including the Red Cross, Women's Catholic League. She taught the first swimming lessons in Clare and was involved in figure skating, scouts and 4-H. Surviving are adopted sons, Keith (Tammy) VEINOT, Church Point; Kevin HILL, London, Ont.; two grandchildren; sisters, Esther SMITH, Saint John, N.B.; Antoinette SAULNIER, Saulnierville. She was predeceased by her husband, Anselm "Sammy"; brother, Irenee; sister, Freda. Visitation in Meteghan Funeral Home. Funeral was Saturday, March 2 in St. Mary's Church, Church Point, Yvon Dionne officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or St. Mary's Church Fund.
