Born in Mount Pleasant, she was the former Dorothy Valentine Van Tassell, duaghter of the late Walter and Marion (McClary) VANTASSELL. She was a retired school teacher, having taught for 34 years in several Annapolis, Digby, and Yarmouth counties schools. She was a member of the Digby United Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband; a son Ray, Ashsburn, Ont, two daughters, Ida Jane (Mrs. Glenn Wright), Greenwood; and Dianne, Digby; three sisters, Isabella (Mrs. Walter JOHNSON) Mount Pleasant; Marguerite (Mrs. Kenneth GOLDEN), and Mary (Mrs. Farrell MONROE), both of Digby; a brother, Elliott, Mount Pleasant, and six grandchildren. The body is at Jayne's Funeral Home, Digby. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Digby United Baptist Church, REv. Murray Shaw officiating. Burial will be in the Digby Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charity of choice.
