Born in Weymouth Falls, she was a daughter of the late Roy Edward and Lilly Mae CROMWELL. She was a member of St. Matthew's Anglican Church and Ladies Auxiliary, Branch 67. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Thelma JACKSON, Ontario; Theresa CLEMENTS, Joyce BEAUSOLIEL, Gail JARVIS, all of Weymouth; Holly CAMERON, New Brunswick; son, Andrew Jr.; New Brunswick; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Clements; grandson, Shawn Beausoliel; sister, Beulah Jarvis. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. today in St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Weymouth Falls, Rev. CROWELL, Lorraine Vivian - 75, died Aug. 24, 2002, in Villa St. Joseph Du Lac, Dayton. Born in Richfield, Digby Co., Nov. 23, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth L. M. and Minnie L. (NICKERSON) HARDING (Richfield, Digby Co.). From the time of her marriage in 1945 until her death she was a resident of East Kemptville. She was a member of Kemptville United Baptist Church and was instrumental in fundraising and other activities involved in the establishment of the Kemptville Volunteer Fire Department. She worked for a number of years in the town of Yarmouth for Zellers, Fundy Group Publications, The Unemployment Insurance Office, Motor Mart, etc. In the early 1970's she owned and operated the Purity Lunch Restaurant, John Street, Yarmouth. She is survived by her children, sons Lawrence H. (Cheryl) Malden, Mass.; Robert M. (Judy), Russell C., Peter M. (Dan MACKILL), Yarmouth; Daniel K. (Brenda), Winnipeg; Ronald T. She was a member of Hillgrove United Baptist Church, Hillgrove, Digby Co. She and her husband Charlie lived in North Range, Digby Co. in their early life together, then moving to Cambridge, Mass. where they resided for over 40 years, returning to Hillgrove in the mid 1980's. Following the death of her husband, she built a home on the property where she was born in Melbourne. Before entering the hospital, she was a resident of Vancouver Place. She was self taught in piano, guitar, accordion and harmonica and at the age of 70 received her GEd. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting and she quilted many complicated and challenging projects. While in Massachusetts she was a member of the choir Tremont Temple in Boston. She also sang in the Billy Graham Crusade Choir. She was a volunteer at Massachusetts General Hospital, visiting the sick. She is survived by sisters, Mildred COOK, Chebogue, Yarmouth Co.; Marjorie COFFRIN, Melbourne; Pauline DEVINE, Plymouth, Yarmouth Co.; brother, Kenneth SMITH, Tidalview Manor, Yarmouth; She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie; sister, Ruth PINKNEY; brother, Murray SMITH; step brother, Eugene SMITH; step sister, Vivian. Visitation and funeral, which was Sunday, Sept. 15 in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Yarmouth, Rev. A.D. "Bill" NEWELL and Rev. Beverley DENSMORE officiating. Interment in Arcadia Cemetery. MELANSON, Agnes Marie - 93, Fairview, formerly of Halifax and West Chezzetcook, passed away September 21, 2002 at the QEII Hospital, Halifax Infirmary Site. Born in Concession, Digby County, she was the daughter of the late Martin Marc and Emilie Th�r�se (LEBLANC) LEBLANC. Before her marriage, she worked as a waitress at Hillside Hall and for the Nova Scotia Hotel. While raising her family, she was Postmaster at West Chezzetcook for 3 years and, with her husband Camille, operated a canteen in West Chezzetcook. She later worked in the laundry at St. Mary's University, and at the canteen at Pier 28, from which she retired in 1974. She was also a longtime volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross. She was a member of St. Lawrence's Parish, Halifax, the Catholic Women's League, and until age 90, the St. Lawrence Bowling League. She also enjoyed bingo, cards, and going to the casino. She is survived by eight children, Donald (Shirley), Cornwall, ON; Roy (Lucille), Lawrencetown; Shirley (Donald) Bellefontaine, Porter's Lake; Lloyd (Marilyn), Halifax; Doris (Morris) DOUCETTE, Toronto, ON; Eileen, Dartmouth; David, Halifax; Bernard, Beijing, China; ten grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Camille Joseph MELANSON; sisters, Alice (COMEAU) WALSH, Rosie, May MANETTE, Elsie, her twin Celenie, Florence GAUDET; brothers, Siffroi, George, Felix, Joseph (in infancy) and Dennis. Cremation is taking place. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Snow's Funeral Home, Windsor St., Halifax. Memorial mass 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Lawrence's Church, Dutch Village Rd., Halifax, Rev. Sibyl Jean MacPherson LOWEN Church Member, 71, who taught Sunday school at Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Burke, died of breast cancer Sept. 24 at Inova Fairfax Hospital. She had lived in Fairfax County since the 1960s. Mrs. LOWEN was born in Washington and raised in Baltimore and Miami. She attended Dominican University of California and the University of Miami and was a graduate of Northern Virginia Community College. She had been a member of the PTA at W.T. Woodson High School in Fairfax City, a Fairfax Girl Scout leader and vice president of the Mill Creek Citizens Association. Mrs. LOWEN also had organized a writers group in Fairfax. She was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor sorority. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Navy Capt. Ernest LOWEN of Fairfax; two daughters, Pamela OSTI of Wurtzburg, Germany, and Catherine Jean ERNO of Santa Maria, Calif.; a son, James, of Nashville; a sister; and two grandchildren. (She lived in the summers on Lowen Lane in Smiths Cove. Her Maiden name was MACPHERSON, the daughter of Captain James Ian MacPherson.)
