INNES, Reginald H. "Reg" - (unforgettable), 66, Bear River, passed away March 3, 2005, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Errol and Kathleen (PELLEY) INNES. He served with the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years, where he served with the Kingston Guard, the Signal Corps and as an Administrative Chief Clerk. He served as a peacekeeper in Egypt and with NATO in Europe. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 22, Bear River, for 24 years. Reg had an abundant knowledge of computers and computer programming. Reg took great pride in his home and property and loved going to the cabin at the lake. He enjoyed the special time spent with his grandsons, Tyler and Joel. Reg had a wonderful sense of humour and always made time for his family and many friends. He will never be forgotten. He is survived by loving wife, Sandi, who will always think the world of him; sons, Michael (Terri) INNES, Cornwallis, Annapolis Co.; Chris INNES, Ottawa, Ont.; grandsons, Tyler and Joel; sister-in-law, Joan INNES, Dartmouth; nephews, Stephen (Maria) INNES and family, Darren (Catherine) INNES and family, both of Dartmouth. He was predeceased by his brother, Harry. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today in Jayne's Funeral Home, 7 Birch St., Digby, where a celebration of life will be 2 p.m. Sunday. GOTT, Marion Penny - 91, died in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, on March 9, 2005, with her daughter by her side. Born in England on June 24, 1913, Penny came to Nova Scotia as a veteran of the U.S. Army. She was the innkeeper of Headly House in Smith Cove with her business partner and best friend, Josephine CURRY, for 44 years. Penny loved life, enjoyed music, art, travelling and writing poetry and stories. She was very involved in the communities of Digby and Smith Cove. She was elected several terms to municipal council. Penny was a prime exponent in building Tideview Nursing Home in Digby, where she lived the last three years with great care. She will be sadly missed by her adopted daughter, Hilde REYNOLDS, Ottawa, and close friends and people that knew her. Many thanks to the nursing staff at the ICU and Medical Unit for their excellent care. Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request. Interment of ashes at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.

Born in St. John, N.B., he was a son of the late Michael and Mary (MOORE) MACKIN. Jim attended St. Malachy's High School and following graduation, became a communications/radio operator. He worked for the Department of Transportation before going to sea for both the Canadian and American Navies as a communications officer during the Second World War. He and his wife, Helen, settled in Nova Scotia in 1950, where they raised six children while working for the Dominion Atlantic Railroad for 35 years. He is survived by sisters, Constance GAUTHIER, St. John; Barbara LAWLOR, St. John; brothers, Phillip, Great Village, Colchester Co.; Richard, Dartmouth; children, James GREGORY (Jocelyn), Port Williams; Deborah, Digby; Michael, Calgary, Alta.; Kevin (Nancy), Digby; Catherine, Digby; Stephen (Alicia), Digby; grandchildren, Shannon, Digby; Gregory, Fredericton, N.B.; Kinsey, Edmonton, Alta.; Gillian, Port Williams; Alexandra, Moncton, N.B.; Ayla, Digby. Surviving are his son, Donald Jr. and his companion Twila and stepdaughters, Judy (David), Marlyn (Mark), and Susan (Rick); sisters, Elizabeth (Bill), Mary; brothers, Lawrence (Mary), Walter (Edith), Ronald (Vera); several half-brothers and sisters, and many great friends. Donald worked in Western Canada for many years as a cook. He also worked for the County of Digby as a dog catcher for many years. He was predeceased by brother, John; sisters, Thelma AMON, and Florence at birth. There will be a gathering for family and friends on Saturday, March 19, from 7-9 p.m., with a memorial service on Sunday, March 20, at 1:30 p.m., both in North Range United Baptist Church, North Range, Rev. She was a very dedicated mother and grandmother who loved family get-togethers, summer days at Lake Echo and watching Toronto Blue Jays games on television. A member of the Digby United Baptist Church, he was part of the church choir for over 50 years and was made an honorary deacon. He was predeceased by Winnifred (SHAW) BRITTAIN, his wife of 60 years; his son, Hugh; sisters, Anne, Ruth, Doris, and brother, William. Gerald was a member of Grace United Church, Digby; the Admiral Digby Museum, King Solomon Masonic Lodge, Digby; Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 20; a member of the Liberal Party of Canada, and served as municipal councilor for Culloden District for 16 years. He is survived by his daughters, Brenda (Wayne) HILLIER, Dartmouth; Pauline (Howard) CARPENTER, North Range; son, Gerald Jr. (Carol), Florida; sisters, Lorna VANTASSELL, Digby; Muriel FOGG, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Julie, Scott, Paulette, Allison, and Michelle; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Phoebe (MYLES); brothers, Herbert, Arnold, Arden, Eugene; sisters, Louise, Gwen, Villa. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, Royal Canadian Legion tribute service 7 p.m. Friday, both in Jayne's Funeral Home, 7 Birch St., Digby. Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday in Grace United Church, Digby, Rev. Earle LESLIE officiating. Interment in Culloden Baptist Church Cemetery. THIBEAULT, Edgar Louis - 74, South Range, Digby Co., passed away June 13, 2005, at home. Born in North Range, he was a son of the late James and Mary (WAGNER) THIBEAULT. Edgar enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and playing crib. He was interested in cattle and oxen. He was always happy spending time with his family. Surviving are his daughters, Judy (Randy), Kathy, Sherry (Gibby), Pam (Dan); sons, Gary (Brenda), Ricky (Rachel), Terry (Angela); 15 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Edna; seven sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday with prayers at 3 p.m. Friday, all in Jayne's Funeral Home, 7 Birch St., Digby. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Plympton, Father Chinedu Chuwku officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
