George R. Laacke, 66, who retired in 1961 after 26 years with the Cincinnati police force, died March 11, 1980. Mr. Laacke moved here 15 years ago and is survived by his wife, Mary; a sister and a brother. Private services at Shadow Mountain Mortuary. 3/15/1980.

LABELLE, Leo F.

Leo F. Labelle, 59, who was a foreman 18 years for Southwest Envelope Co., died Sept. 29, 1980, in Doctors Hospital. He was a World War II Marine veteran and came here from Chicago in 1956. Survived by his wife, Frances; daughter Judith Lieske, sisters Emma Labelle, Mary Andrews, Joan Woods, Frances Turner; and a brother, John Goodwin. Catholic burial in Chicago. 2 October 1980.

LaBOUFF, Thomas R.

28 June 1925 - March 1980
Thomas R. LaBouff, 54, who was owner of the Purple Ski for 17 years and was past president of North Phoenix Rotary Club, a member of Maryvale Elks Lodge, Art Directors Association of Phoenix, Ski Patrol and Phoenix Press Box Association. He served in the Navy in World War II and came to Phoenix in 1955 from CA. Wife, Mary Elizabeth; daughters, Lietta Scott, Anita Michell, Camille Louise and Yvette Elise; two sisters and three brothers. Services were in Church of the Beatitudes, 555 W. Glendale. 3/28/1980.

LACHMAN, Elmer William

Glendale -- Elmer William Lachman, 76, who had been self-employed in the hardware business, came here from Pittsburgh in 1976 and died Oct. 7, 1980, in Glendale Samaritan Hospital. Wife, Martha; children, Helen Tinnon, Nancy Remy, Carol, Don and Elmer Jr.; 13 grandchildre; a sister and two brothers. Oct. 9, 1980.

LAKOS, Anton

25 March 1895 - 11 March 1980
Rosary for Anton Lakos, 84, will be today in Glendale Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 N. 59th Ave. Mass was in Ukranian Catholic Church, 4318 W. Clarendon. Mr. Lakos moved to Phoenix in 1970 from Ohio, and died March 11, 1980, in his home at 4232 W. Cinnabar. He was a retired elevator assembler. Survivors include his wife, Stephanie; daughters, Nattalie Brewka and Nancy Kowal and four grandchildren. The Arizona Republic Thursday, March 13, 1980.

LAMEW, Harry

Glendale -- Services for Harry Lamew, 77, a machinist who died Sept. 30, 1980, in Phoenix Baptist Hospital were in Northwest Church of Christ, 7654 N. 19th Ave. Green Acres Mortuary, 5830 W. Missouri. Mr. Lamew, 6420 W. Myrtle, came here in 1957 from Michigan. He is survived by children, Hazel Spiceland, Joan Black and Harry Jr.; a brother; two sisters; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Interment Resthaven Park, Glendale. The Arizona Republic Thursday, October 2, 1980.

LaMOTTE, Emily

2 March 1912 - 27 March 1980
Emily LaMotte, 68, died March 27, 1980, in her home. Mrs. LaMotte had retired as an operator and clerk for Illinois Bell. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile in Chicago. Survivors include her husband, C.D., two sisters and two brothers. Services were in Chicago. 3/28/1980.

LANGFORD, Mary

Mary Langford, 88, who came from Pennsylvania 67 years ago from Pennsylvania, died Oct. 9, 1980, in Desert Terrace Nursing Home. Survived by daughters, Gladys Flint and Helen Wood; a sister; six grandchildren. Friday, October 10, 1980.

LARA, Julia V.

Julia V. Lara, 61, a native of Bisbee who lived here since 1925, died Mar. 28, 1980, in a local hospital. Mrs. Lara is survived by daughters, Molly Gaona and Julie Ramarez; a brother; eight grandchildren. Mass was at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 909 S. 1st Ave. 3/30/1980.

LARSEN, Norma Carleen

Scottsdale -- Memorial services for Norma Carleen Larsen, 54, were in Scottsdale United Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Larsen had been active in music programs at the church and sang in the Master Works Corral. She came to Arizona 30 years ago from Franklin Park, Illinois, and is survived by her husband, Donal H.; children, Bruce and Robin Larsen; mother, Nora Schierhorn, and a sister. LARSON, John

Mesa -- John H. Larson, 72, a retired electrician, died Oct. 10, 1980, in Mesa Lutheran Hospital. He had also operated a resort in Minnesota before coming here 12 years ago from his native Rockford, IL. He was a member of Victory Lutheran Church, Phoenix Scottish Rite Bodies, Eastern Star and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Wife, Charlotte, and two brothers survive. LARSON, John H.

John H. Larson, 51, an electrical mechanical designer with Goodyear Aerospace until he became ill, died March 14, 1980. Mr. Larson worked three years for Interglobal Technical Services, Inc. after coming here in 1968 from Minneapolis. Survivors include his wife, Karen; children, Rondi and John N.; mother, Mrs. Julius Larson, Minneapolis; a brother, Theodore, of Vancouver, B.C; and three sisters, Mrs. Luther Strommen, Columbus, OH, Mrs. Alan Gruman and Mrs. Jerry Pasma of San Carlos, CA. 3/15/1980.

Thatcher -- Lottie L. Larson, 99, a native of Thatcher, died Oct. 9, 1980, in Roseville, Calif. She was a former teacher. Survived by daughters, Elizabeth Dickson and Pauline Mykles. 15 Oct 1980.

LAW, Mamie G.

Mamie G. Law, 74, who lived in the Valley 30 years, died Oct. 5, 1980. She is survived by children, Pauline Farrington, Catherine Parrish, Paul S., Jr., James D. and Kenneth R.; 17 grandchildren. Services were in Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden, Scottsdale. 7 Oct 1980

Springerville -- Lillian H. Lawlor, 79, was born in Eagar and died March 22, 1980. She was a homemaker. She is survived by children, Leona Croft, Verna Paddock, Loree Jarvis, Thelma Wiltbank, Gwen Haynie, Marjory Strickland, Zelda Slade and Waldo Hamblin; a sister; two brothers; 39 grandchildren. Services were at the Eagar LDS Church. 3/24/1980.

LAWRENCE, Eleanor

Eleanor Lawrence, 64, who came here in 1962 from Texas, died Oct. 12, 1980. She was born in New Britain, Conn. Survived by children, Penelope Hamstein of TX, Michelle of Phoenix, and Edward S. Lawrence, III; and one grandson. Phoenix Central Christian Church. 10/15/1980.

LEARY, John

Services for John Leary, 51, a construction worker who lived here 26 years, will be Saturday in Webber & Sons Mortuary, 1641 E. Jefferson. Mr. Leary, 1436 E. Monroe, died Jan. 19, 1980, in a Valley hospital. He is survived by his wife, Lola; children, Linda Johnson, Deborah Mabry, Cylia, Sandra, Willie Mae, David and Clyde Leary; eight grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers. LEDON, Natalie S.

Natalie S. Ledon, 81, who came to Arizona as a child from Guaymas, Sonora, died Jan. 29, 1980. She was a member of the Mother's Club and Senior Citizens at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include her children, Herlinda BOwers; christine Ramirez, Alice Nystrom, Lydia, Arthur, David, Philip and Raymond; three sisters; 32 grandchildren. Interment St. Francis Cemetery. LEE, Van C.

Van C. Lee, 81, who came here in 1910 and was a self-employed real estate broker, died Jan. 27, 1980. He is survived by his wife, Helene; two sisters and five brothers. Interment Greenwood Memorial Park. Published 1/31/1980.

LEICH, Frederick William

Sun City -- Frederick William Leich, 73, a retired Chicago investment banker, died Jan. 26, 1980. He was graduated from Hamilton College and received a Master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School in 1930. He retired from Kuhn-Loeb Investment Counselors in 1976. He was a major in the Air Corps in World War II. Daughter, Susan McLaren, survives. Services were at Church of the Palms. Published 1/31/1980.

LEMONS, Joseph C.

16 Aug 1909 - 22 Mar 1980
Chandler -- Joseph C. Lemons, 70, a former high school teacher who retired as a letter carrier from the USPS, died March 22, 1980, in Phoenix Veterans Hospital. Mr. Lemons was a World War II veteran and once operated a feed and seed store here. He came to Chandler in 1939 and taught high school from 1941-1944 and was a teacher with the Bureau of Indian Affairs from 1948-59. He was a member of American Legion Post 35 and Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Floye; sons, James, Don and Gene; mother, Beadie Lemons; and seven grandchildren. 3/25/1980.

LEONARD, Wayne P.

Tempe -- Wayne P. Leonard, 77, who came to Arizona nine years ago from Albuquerque, New Mexico, died March 14, 1980. He was a manager for a food brokerage firm 33 years. Mr. Leonard graduated from the University of Iowa and was a member of Phi Delta Theta. He was a Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife, Helen; daughters, Lou Ann Balthes and Kay Sullivan of Albuquerque; a sister, Irene Leeds of Iowa; and a brother, Marvin Leonard of Iowa. 3/16/1980.
