He came to Chandler in 1939 and taught high school from 1941-1944 and was a teacher with the Bureau of Indian Affairs from 1948-59. He was a member of American Legion Post 35 and Methodist Church. Long, 73, who was presented a gold life pass from Phoenix College when she retired in 1973 as executive secretary to the dean of boys, died March 10, 1980, in her home, 2941 N. 15th Drive. She was a member of Friends of the Thunderbirds, Phoenix Corral of the Westerners and the Arizon and Phoenix Historical societies. She was a volunteer for Save the Child Foundation.
