Stotonic -- Jose Pablo, 87, died Jan. 25, 1980, in Phoenix Indian Hospital. Mr. Pablo was born in Arizona, worked for a railroad and later was a farmer. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; son, Frank; a sister and eight grandchildren. Services were in Stotonic Assembly of God Church. Published 1/31/1980.

PAGE, Howard

Tempe -- Howard Page, 71, died Jan. 23, 1980, in Penfield, N.Y. He retired to Tempe in 1968 and lived at 709 W. 12th St. until moving to Rochester, N.Y. in June. He was in maintenance at Mesa Lutheran Hospital. Survivors include his children, Priscilla Elkovitch, Judith Young, Ruth Page, Richard and David; two sisters and 17 grandchildren. Graveside services were in St. Francis Cemetery, 48th St./Oak. 1/25/1980.

PALMER, Joseph

Glendale -- Joseph Palmer, 78, an Army veteran, died Jan. 23, 1980. He moved here 10 years ago from Iowa. He had been a maintenance employee for a turbine manufacturer. Wife, Anna M.; daughter, Ann Uden; four grandchildren. Services were in Gospel Echoes Church, 5201 N. 27th Ave. 1/25/1980.

PALMER, Marvin N.

4 Oct 1916 - 26 Mar 1980
Marvin N. Palmer, 63, who was president of the Alumni Association during the 1958 vote to change the name of Arizona State College to Arizona State University, died March 26, 1980, in his home. Mr. Palmer graduated from what is now ASU in 1938. He was captain of the football team and president of the Senior Class. Later he farmed in the Casa Grande area. Wife, Catherine; children Marvin Palmer and Mary T. LaFevers of Buckeye; brother, Robert of Casa Grande and Kenneth of Spokane, Ola Brookshire of Alhambra, CA and Louise Freeman of Florence; four grandchildren. Mass was in St. Mary's CHurch. Interment St. Francis Cemetery. 3/28/1980.

PALMER, William Roger

Chandler -- Services for William Roger Palmer, 64, a ranch worker who was born in Mesa, will be today in Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive. Mr. Palmer died March 11, 1980, on the Jack Clem Ranch southeast of Chandler where he lived and worked. A brother survives. The Arizona Republic Thursday, March 13, 1980.

Coolidge -- Services for Dave Parker, 71, who died March 12, 1980, at Pinal General Hospital in Florence, were at the Cole and Maud Chapel. Mr. Parker, a Texas native, moved to Cooidge in 1955. He was a retired carnival vendor. Wife, Helen; and a sister survive. 3/15/1980.


Mesa -- Irving T. Parkhurst, 94, who retired as president after 35 years with Farmers Bank in Walker, Iowa, died March 8, 1980, in his home. He was a member of the Masonic Shrine. Surviving are his son, Robert; two sisters; two grandsons and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services were in United Presbyterian Church of the Master. 3/14/1980.

Cibecue -- Dudley Patterson, 69, Cibecue native, died Oct. 6, 1980, at the Phoenix Indian Hospital. He was a laborer and member of the White Mountain Apache Indian Tribe. Survived by his mother, Charlotte Patterson; sons, Emerson and Earl Danford; daughters, Laudie Case and Cosetta Murphy; a sister; a brother; 23 grandchildren. Member of White Mountain Apache Indian Tribe. Friday, October 10, 1980.

PATTERSON, William Howard

William Howard Patterson, 68, died Jan. 20, 1980, in a Phoenix hospital. He moved here eight years ago and had been a laborer in steel production. Surviving are his daughters, Sheila Croone, Phyllis McGlory, Flora and Amelia Patterson; six grandchildren; a sister and a brother. Burial in Double Butte Cemetery. 25 January 1980.


Canyon Day -- Services for James Paxson, 80, who died Oct. 4, 1980, at the Public Health Service Hospital in Whiteriver, were at the Lutheran Church. Mr. Paxson, a Whiteriver native, was a laborer and a member of the White Mountain Apache Indian Tribe. Survivors include sons, Rencher, Stanley and Marshall; daughters, Karo, Ella and Cindy; a brother; 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Owens Mortuary of Show Low made arrangements. PAYNE, Donald F.

Sun City -- Donald F. Payne, 81, died Jan. 28, 1980. He had been an oil and gas distributor before moving here in 1971 from Ft. Collins, CO. He was a member of Palmbrook Country Club, American Legion and the Masons. Surviving are his wife, Stella; daughter, Dorothy Mock; a sister and two grandchildren. Services were in Julesburg, CO. Published 1/31/1980.

PEACOCK, Margaret

Sun City -- Margaret Peacock, 67, died Sept. 30, 1980, in Boswell Hospital. Mrs. Peacock came here here in 1975 from Glenview, Illinois. Husband, Frank; children, Karen and Roger; a granddaughter and a brother. Services were in All Saints of the Desert Episcopal Church, 9502 W. Hutton Dr. The Arizona Republic Thursday, October 2, 1980.

PEARSON, Lucille Grace

Scottsdale -- Lucille Grace Pearson, 71, died Jan. 29, 1980. Mrs. Pearson moved here 10 years ago from Leawood, KS. She had been a member of Christ the King Church in Westport, MO. Her husband, Bert, survives. Gravesides services were in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E. Shea. Published 1/31/1980.

Edith D. Pennington, 72, who was born in Defiance, Ohio, and came to Arizona 19 years ago from Indiana, died Oct. 11, 1980, in the Sun City Beverly Manor Convalescent Center. Survivors include children, Sharon Stomm and Robert; two sisters, Isabelle Simpson and Oneta Carpino, both of Indiana; three brothers, Charles Dager of Glendale, Gerald and Fred Dager, both of Indiana; six grandchildren. Graveside services were at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6290 W. Northern. Oct. 13. 1980.

PERALTA, Reynaldo

Guadalupe -- Reynaldo B. Peralta, 57, was born in Douglas and died Oct. 6, 1980, in a Phoenix hospital. He had worked as a clerk in Valley grocery stores. Survived by wife, Josefine; children, Mary, Celia, Anita, Teresa, Jessie, Francisca, Josefine and Reynaldo, Jr.; two sisters and a brother. Mass was in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. PERKINS, Effie Mae

Effie Mae Perkins, 73, who was a member of the Academy of Friendship in Women of the Moose Chapter 1527, died Jan. 22, 1980. Mrs. Perkins lived here 20 years and had been a buyer for the Broadway Books of California. Husband, Herbert, survives. 24 January 1980.

PERRIE, Sarah W.

Sarah W. Perrie, 84, a native of Ireland who came here in 1976 from Silver Springs, Maryland, and was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church, died Oct. 8, 1980, in Phoenix Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Perrie, 1931 W. Hazelwood, is survived by a daughter-in-law, Takako Perrie; three grandchildren and two sisters. Mass will be in Washington, D. C., Northwest Mortuary announced. Mesa -- George Peterson, 75, a retired professor of Michigan State University educational placement, died Jan. 21, 1980. He was a member of Apache Wells Community Church and Mesa Shrine Club. Wife, Dorothy; children, Lynne A. and George E.; two grandchildren; and two sisters. 24 January 1980.

Opal M. Peterson, 69, a retired accountant and an Oklahoma native, died March 13, 1980, in Scottsdale. Mrs. Peterson came here three years ago from Brussels, Belgium. Survived by husband, Albert, and two brothers. Burial in Covina, California. 3/16-17/1980.

PETTY, Joyce A.

Miami -- Joyce A. Petty, 23, a Miami native, died March 22, 1980, at Miami Inspiration Hospital. She is survived by her mother, Rosalee Keck, and three brothers. Services were at the Miles Chapel. 3/26/1980.

Miami -- Mass for Eva M. Phearl, 75, who died Jan. 26, 1980, at Gila General Hospital in Globe, was in Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Mrs. Phearl, an Indiana native, moved to Miami in 1949. She was a housewife. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. The Arizona Republic Wednesday, January 30, 1980.
