E. May Abbott, mother of Merlin P. "Bud" Abbott. Also survived by two brothers and two sisters and three grandchildren. Memorial services were in First Christian Church, 6750 N. 7th Ave. Final rites private. Oct. 8, 1980.


Queen Creek -- Services for Edna Abbott, 63, who came here in 1943 from Arkansas and died Oct. 2, 1980, in a Phoenix hospital, will be 10 a.m. Monday in Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler. Mrs. Abbott, of W. Ellsworth Road, is survived by her husband, Frank; children, Frances Sinor, Wanda Mallett, Shirley Lane, Joyce Summers, Donna, Jerl, Sherman, Buel, and Timothy; 17 grandchildren; four sisters and six brothers. ACOSTA, Alberto C.

Superior -- Alberto C. Acosta, 70, of Superior, who had been a miner, died Oct. 11, 1980, in Pinal County Hospital, Florence. He came to Arizona 57 years ago from Mexico. Wife, Aggie; children, Carmen Vender, Albert, Ralph, Frank, and Alex; three sisters; two brothers; 14 grandchildren. Rosary and Mass were at St. Francis Catholic Church. Ray Adair, 62, passed away Thursday, Oct. 9, 1980. Wife, Pauline; daughters, Mary Jo Trueblood, Patricia Ray Lefuil, Maureen James, Kathleen Waterman, Frances Ann Campbell; one sister; two brothers; 11 grandchildren. Services were in Church of the Beatitudes. A memorial to the Cherokee Indian Organization of the Glendale Masonic Lodge No. 23 is preferred. Oct. 12, 1980.

ADAMS, Lottie P.

18 July 1888 - 28 Mar 1980
Lottie P. Adams, 91, who was a secretary 20 years for St. Mary's Episcopal Church, died Mar. 28, 1980, in her home. Mrs. Adams came here 21 years ago from Los Angeles where she was the chief translator of Spanish for the Chamber of Commerce. She is survived by a sister. Graveside services were at Resthaven Cemetery, 6290 W. Northern. 3/30/1980.

ADDY, Anna L.

Tempe -- Anna L. Addy, 68, who came to Arizona 43 years ago from Idaho, died Oct. 3, 1980. Mrs. Addy had been a telephone operator for the Tucson Daily Star and Mountain Bell. Husband, Charles A.; son, Andy Himler, Jr.; and three sisters. Graveside services in Mesa City Cemetery. 7 Oct 1980

AGUILERA, Alfonso G.

Rosary for Alfonso G. Aguilera, 67, will be today in Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 330 N. Second Ave. Mass will be Friday in St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2038 W. Van Buren. Mr. Aguilera, 3130 W. Garfield, lived in Phoenix 60 years and died March 10, 1980, in St. Joseph's Hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a jeweler with Lanning's Silver. He was a member of American Legion Post 41 and a counselor for the City of Phoenix Alcoholics League. Survivors include his children, Mary Sanchez, Theresa Negrette, Alfonso, Jr., and John; nine grandchidlren, five great-grandchildren; three sisters and a brother. Interment St. Francis. The Arizona Republic Thursday, March 13, 1980.

ALDERMAN, Margaret P.

Margaret P. Alderman, 48, a secretary who came to Arizona in 1970 from New York, died Oct. 4, 1980, in her home, 3629 W. Citrus Way. Mrs. Alderman is survived by her husband, Glenn; sons, Stephen, Robert and Glenn; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Elinskas; four sisters; two brothers and a grandchild. Rosary was at Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 N. 59th Ave. Mass was at St. Louis the King Catholic Church, 4331 W. Maryland. October 6, 1980.

Charles T. Alicoate, Sr., 61, a sheet metal worker, died Oct. 11, 1980 in the Veterans Hospital. He was a Chicago native and came to Arizona 18years ago. wife, Violette; children, Jean and Charles, Jr; mother, Margaret Alicoate, Chicago, IL; a sister, Eileen O'Connell, Chicago; and four brothers, James Alicoate, Naples, FL, John, Jerome and James Alicoate, all of Chicago. ALLEN, Billy Joe

Billy Joe Allen, 44, was born in Phoenix and died March 21, 1980, in Tucson Veterans Hospital. Mr. Allen worked as a musician in the Valley and served two enlistments in the Navy until 1965. Survivors include his wife, Mary; children, Sherry Corby, Chrystle and Anita Allen, Fred and George Cummins; mother, Ethel McFarland; a grandchild; two sisters and three brothers. 3/25/1980.

Apache Junction -- Harry O. Allen, 63, a retired mechanic who worked on farm machinery and autos and owned Allen's Auto in Gilbert from 1952 to 1974, died Jan. 26, 1980, in his home. Mr. Allen moved to Arizona 29 years ago from Georgetown, Illinois. Wife, Jane; son, John; two sisters; and a brother, Rev. Charles Allen; and two grandchildren. 1/29/1980.

Tempe -- Esther Allison, 89, moved here in 1975 from Continental, OH, and died Oct. 8, 1980, in Mesa Lutheran Hospital. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Ohio where funeral services were held. She is survived by a daughter, Grayse Akins, and a sister. Friday, October 10, 1980.

George "Bob" R. Allison, 51, who was a real estate broker seven years for Ed Allison Realty and a salesman 21 years for Copperstate Tractor Sales, died Jan. 25, 1980. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He came here 28 years ago from his native Ada, Oklahoma. He was a member of Phoenix Jaycees and Masonic Lodge #29. Wife, Janice; daughters, Linda Sagadin and Shirley Thompson; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Allison. 1/27/1980.

Margarita V. Alvarez, 70, died March 14, 1980. She was born in Tucson and came here in 1972 from Silver City, N.M. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her children, Amelia Noriega, Katie Flores, Aurora Gomez and Peter; a sister; 26 grandchildren. Mass was at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 909 S. First Ave. 3/17/1980.

Sun City -- Julian R. Amelung, 92, an organist and choirmaster 15 years at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, died Oct. 10, 1980, in St. Louis. He was born in Greenleaf, Kansas, and came to Sun City in 1960 from Kansas City, MO. He is survived by children, Juanita Kirby, St. Louis, MO, Virginia Moffett, St. Croix Falls, WI; and Fred, Overland Park, KS; seven grandchildren. The Arizona Republic Sunday, Oct. 12, 1980.
