FAHRENBRUCK, Gary Ray

Scottsdale -- Gary Ray Fahrenbruch, 37, a Scottsdale police officer, died Sept. 30, 1980, in Good Samaritan Hospital. He was a native of Salt Lake City and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was with the Missouri Highway Patrol 13 years before coming here a year ago. Wife, Gail; children, Tracy, Kelly and Gary; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Fahrenbruck; and a sister. FAISST, Raymond L.

30 July 1917 - 12 March 1980
Raymond L. Faisst, 62, who had been associated with Canstest Realty Co., died March 12, 1980. He moved here in 1977 from Arkansas. Mr. Faisst was graduated from St. Louis University in Missouri and was a 32nd degree Mason, ruling elder at Valley Presbyterian Church and organizational committee chairman of Mountain View Presbyterian Church. He was second vice president of Scottsdale Hiram Club and a member of Aloha Shrine in Honolulu and Arizona Country Club. Survivors include his wife, Carole; a sister, Mrs. E. Eugene Wetzel "Wilma" of Ohio and a brother, Rev. Ralph C. Faisst of IL; 3 nieces out of state and a nephew in Tempe. Green Acres Mortuary. 3/14/1980.

FARAS, Julia S.

25 Sep 1905 - 28 Mar 1980
San Carlos -- Julia S. Faras, 74, who operated a carry-out Mexican food cafe 45 years on the San Carlos Reservation, died March 28, 1980, in her home. She was born in Douglas and moved to San Carlos in 1928 and was a member of the Slaughter Mountain Livvestock Association. Survivors include her children, Margaret and Tom; a sister; four brothers; three grandchildren. Mass was in San Carlos Catholic Church. 3/31/1980.

FARBER, Edith M.

19 Oct 1893 - 26 Mar 1980
Edith M. Farber, 85, who had been a member of Goodwill Industries Auxiliary and a volunteer for Samuel Gompers Memorial Rehabilitation Center, died March 26, 1980, in her home. Mrs. Farber moved here in 1968 from New York. She is survived by her sons, John F. and Henry C.; a brother, Henry C. Binder; 11 grandchildren. Memorial services were in Church of the Beatitudes, 555 W. Glendale. 3/28/1980.

FARRIS, Thomas L.

16 Feb 1917 - 29 Jan 1980
Prescott -- Services for Thomas L. Farris, 62, who died Jan. 29, 1980, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, were at United Methodist Church. Farris, who lived in Prescott 24 years, was a construction engineer. He served in the Army in World War II. Survivors include his wife, Edna, and five sisters. Memory Chapel handled the arrangements. FELIX, Nina Ethel

9 June 1889 - 24 March 1980
Nina Ethel Felix died March 24, 1980, in Hillhaven Health Care. Mrs. Felix moved here 27 years ago from Indianapolis. She is survived by her daughter, Myla Frances Grim; a granddaughter and two sisters. Interment Greenwood Memorial Park. 3/27/1980.

FELSHAW, Margaret A.

Bryce -- Margaret A. Felshaw, 98, died March 13, 1980, at Mount Graham Community Hospital in Safford. Mrs. Felshaw, a Utah native, moved to Bryce in 1900. Survivors include three sons, John, Clay and Harry; four daughters, Roxey, Bessie, Phyllis and Julia; 26 grandchildren. Services were at the Pima First Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 3/15/1980.

FENTON, Hyman

Hyman Fenton, 92, a retired salesman, died March 26, 1980, in Kivel Nursing Home. Mr. Fenton came to the Valley 25 years ago from California and lived at the nursing home, 3020 N. 36th St. Survivors include his children, Ruth Alpert, and Dr. Irving Feinstein; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Sinai Mortuary. Graveside services in Beth El Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren. 3/28/1980.

FERGUSON, Nina R.

Sun City -- Services for Nina Ferguson, 86, who lived here since 1960 and was a charter member of the United Church of Sun City, were Friday in Sun Valley Lodge Chapel, 12415 N. 103rd Ave. Mrs. Ferguson died Oct. 7, 1980, in the lodge. She was a past matron of the Eastern Star in Valier, Montana. Surviving are her husband, Blaine; children, Virginia Dougherty, Anita Jones and Dr. David Ferguson; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Lundberg Golden Door Mortuary, Youngtown. FIELDS, Francie

Francie Fields, 62, who was a carpenter in the construction business until he became ill, died March 26, 1980, in Hillhaven Health Care Center. He moved here five months ago from Colorado. Surviving are his wife, Gracie; children, bessie Dunn, Charles Edward Fields, Alvord, TX, and Billie Ray Fields, Meadview, AZ; a brother, Ed Fields; 15 grandchildren. Interment Greenwood Memorial Park. 3/28/1980.

FIGUEROA, Victoria S.

Victoria S. Figueroa, 81, who lived in Arizona 60 years, died Oct. 11, 1980, in the home of a Phoenix granddaughter. Survived by her daughter, Esther Martinez; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services were in Mission Bautista Memorial Chapel. 502 W. Pima. The Arizona Republic Tuesday, Oct. 14, 1980.

FINCH, David Scott

David Scott Finch, 15, was born in Illinois and came here in 1972. He attended Thunderbird High School and died Oct. 2, 1980, in St. Joseph's Hospital. He is survived by parents, Lee and Harriet Finch; a sister and two grandparents. Services were in Sinai Mortuary. Saturday, Oct. 4, 1980.

FISHER, Dan E.

Mesa -- Dan E. Fisher, 75, who came to Arizona 10 years ago from Arlington, Heights, IL, died Jan. 26, 1980. Mr. Fisher had been foreman for a tool and die company in Illinois. Survived by his wife, Magdalene; children, Leona Luensman and Lt. Cmdr. Dweight D. Fisher; twosisters; nine grandchildren. Mass was at All Saints Catholic Church, 1534 N. Recker Rd. 1/28/1980.

FISHER, Donna

Donna E. Fisher, 87, who came here 10 years ago from Missouri and was a retired elementary school teacher, died March 28, 1980, in St. Joseph's Hospital. She is survived by a daughter, Lois Fisher Smalley, husband, Edwin, and nieces in Cottonwood and Glendale. Services were at Greenwood Cemetery Chapel, 2300 W. Van Buren. FISHER, Gordon R.

Sun City -- Gordon R. Fisher, 85, who was head track coach at Indiana University 1944 to 1961, died Oct. 8, 1980, in Beverly Manor Nursing Home. After coming to Tucson in 1965, he refereed home track meets at the U of A. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and received a master's degree in education at New York University. Wife, Dorothy; children, Marjorie White, Durham, NC, Karen Fisher of Tucson, and Gordon Richard Fisher, Findlay, OH; two grandchildren; a sister, Florence Mural, Provost, Alberta, Canada; and a brother, Victor Fisher of Cavalier, ND. Oct. 9, 1980.

FITZGERALD, Eva A.

Sun City -- Eva A. Fitzgerald, 74, who had been an office administrator and bookkeeper for a certified public accounting firm in Illins, died March 8, 1980. Mrs. FItzgerald moved here in 1973 from Riverdale, IL. She is survived by a sister and two brothers. Services were in Naperville, IL. 3/15/1980.

FLANDERS, Dr. John P.

14 Apr 1907 - 11 Oct 1980
Dr. John P. Flanders, 73, who was on the staff of Arizona State Hosital eight years until retiring in 1978, died Oct. 11, 1980. He practiced medicine 38years in Monroe, Michigan, before coming here in 1970. He was a member of the deaconate board of the First Congregational Church of Phoenix and a former Shriner in Detroit. He graduated from Albion College in Michigan, received his degree from Loyola University in Chicago and served as a flight surgeon in World War II. Wife, Viva; children, Patricia Payne, Janis Migyanka and Gerald; a brother; and eight grandchildren. 10/14/1980.

FLYNN, John J.

John J. Flynn, 55, of Gilbert, a Phoenix attorney who became widely known for his success in defending persons charged with serious crimes, died Jan. 26, 1980, in Flagstaff. He gained national attention in 1966 when he successfully argued the landmark Miranda case before the U.S.Supreme Court where it was ruled that a person charged with crimes had a right to remain silent and to seek counsel. Survivors include his wife, Kathy G.; children, Patricia Guy, Kathryn Kies, Mary, Justin, Sean, Jacob, John, Michael and Terry Flynn. 1/30/1980.
