DAFFORN, LaQuisse

Services for LaQuisse Dafforn, 67, who moved here in 1959 from her native Fort Wayne, Indiana, were in Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. Seventh St. Mrs. Dafforn, 6234 N. 15th Ave., died Sept. 29, 1980, in Phoenix Baptist Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Donald, and son, Phillip. The Arizona Republic Wednesday, October 1, 1980.

DAHL, Betty M.

Betty M. Dahl, 73, who had been a restaurant hostell, died Oct. 11, 1980, in her home. She was born in Tioga, IL, and came to Arizona in 1968 from Kentucky. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Survived by husband, Rex; sister, Mildred Gosney, Phoenix. Interment Resthaven Park. The Arizona Republic Monday, Oct. 13, 1980.

DAMIANO, Thomas E.

Rosary for Thomas E. Damiano, 20, was in Lundberg White Rose Chapel, 5310 W. Northern, Glendale. Mass Thursday in Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 3220 W. Greenway. Mr. Daimano, 3727 E. McDowell, died Sept. 28, 1980, in St. Joseph's Hospital after a long illness. He attended Desert Valley High School in his native Phoenix. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Damiano; three sisters, Mary Damiano, Patricia Powers and Phyllis Mejia; and five brothers, Jimmy, Andy, John, Michael and James. Interment Resthaven Park. The Arizona Republic Wednesday, October 1, 1980.

DANIELS, Hubert "Tex", Jr.

1 Feb 1923 - 16 March 1980
Hubert "Tex" Daniels, Jr., 57, who was employed by the Arizona Republic the past 21 years died Sunday, March 16, 1980. Mr. Daniels was born in Paris, Texas, and served the last 11 years as manager of the Lazy R/G Ranch, an employees' recreational facility, where he resided. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; children, Claudia Bullard, Betty Lindsey, Carla Smith, Sheryl DaCosta and Ronald; a sister, Geneva Lintner; and nine grandchildren. Interment at St. Francis Cemetery. 3/17/1980.

DAVIS, Adelbert J.

10 June 1908 - 24 Mar 1980
Glendale -- Adelbert J. Davis, 71, died March 24, 1980. Mr. Davis moved here 22 years ago from Warren, Ohio. He had been a clerk for Western Auto Stores. Survivors include his wife, Harriet; daughter, Patricia Stenger; and two grandchildren. 3/26/1980.

DAVIS, Alex Lee

Glendale -- Alex Lee Davis, 36, a United Airlines mechanic, died Oct. 9, 1980, in Good Samaritan Hospital. Mr. Davis recently returned to Glendale after living in California. He was born in Tupelo, Oklahoma, and previously lived here 18years. He is survived by a son, Kenneth; father, Jefferson Davis; three sisters and seven brothers. 12 Oct 1980.

DAVIS, Howard Edward

Howard Edward Davis, 70, a retired shoe factory worker who came here from Missouri in 1964, died Oct. 7, 1980, in a Phoenix hospital. Wife, Bertha; children Loretta, Charles, and Gary; step-children Bonnie Taylor, Donna Shrum, Gennie Howard and David Bailey; 21 grandchildren. DAVIS, LaVon I.

20 April 1925 - 27 March 1980
Strawberry -- LaVon I. Davis, 54, died March 27, 1980, at Louis R. Pyle Memorial Hospital in Payson. Mrs. Davis, an Iowa native, came here in 1973 from Buckeye. Survivors include her husband, Alva; two daughters, Lyn Williams and Pam Miglio; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Hanshaw; and two grandchildren. 3/29/1980.


DEAN, Beulah M.

Wickenburg -- Services for Beulah M. Dean, 69, who died Sept. 29, 1980, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, will be Thursday at the Wickenburg Funeral Home. Mrs. Dean, a Kentucky native, moved to Wickenburg in 1945. She later lived in Phoenix and Eloy. Survivors include a son, Howard, and two grandchildren. DECK, Chester I.

Mesa -- Chester I. Deck, 84, who retired as a dispatcher and telegraph operator after 49 years with the Santa Fe Railroad Co., died March 8, 1980. He was a World War I Army veteran and a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Hutchinson, KS, and a 50-year member of the Masons. He moved here in 1970. Wife, Florence; children, Jacqueline Osborn, Richard and Chester. Services were in his native Abbeyville, Kansas. 3/15/1980.

DECKER, Dennis A.

Dennis A. Decker, 22, who was a heavy equipment operator, was killed in an accident at a worksite March 12, 1980. He was a Phoenix native and a member of Operating Engineers Union 428. Mother, Charlene P. Decker; father, Willis D. Decker; a sister, three brothers and grandmother survive. 3/15/1980.

Willie De La Cruz, 73, a retired pipefitter for Consolidated Steel Co., died Oct. 1, 1980, in his home. He was born in Cochise County and served in the Army in World War II. Children, Gloria Valenzuela, Belen Aguilar, Dolly Aguirre, Lalo and Benny Garcia; three sisters, Henrietta Ward, Mary Garcia and Eva Yribe; two brothers, Robert and Tiber; 37 grandchildren. Mass was in Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, 909 E. Washington. Interment with military honors by Tony Soza Post 41 American Legion at St. Francis Cemetery. DELDIN, Lucian

Youngtown -- Lucian Del Din, 78, a mining engineer and motel owner before moving here in 1962 from Gaylord, Michigan, died Jan. 26, 1980, in Valley View Hospital. He also had been a building contractor and a graduate of an institute of mining technology. Surviving are his wife, Mabel; daughter, Betty Del Din; and a sister. 1/29/1980.

DELGADO, Pedro

Pedro Delgado, 27,, a laborer in bridge construction, was killed in an equipment accident Jan. 25, 1980, in Casa Grande. He came here 20 years ago from California and is survived by his wife, Rufina; children, Alma, Yesenia and Ernesto; parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.R. Delgado; two sisters and 11 brothers. Mass was in St. Anthony Catholic Church, 909 S. First Ave. 1/29/1980.

DELIZ, Reuben S.

Reuben S. Deliz, 28, who had been a foreman for a fiberglass tank company, died of an illness Oct. 7, 1980, in St. Joseph's Hospital. Mr. Deliz was born in Honolulu and came here in 1978 from Los Angeles. He was a disciple in Paradise Hills Foursquare Gospel Church. Survived by his wife, Antoinette; children, Rita, Reuben, Jr., and Robert; parents, Royce and Josephine Wilson; four sisters; two brothers; and three grandparents. Friday, October 10, 1980.

DELLA-CALCE, E. Claire

E. Claire Della-Calce, 62, a registered nurse who retired in 1979 from the Cartwright Elementary School District, died Oct. 6 1980, in her home, 4725 W. Mitchell Drive. Mrs. Della-Calice was decorated for valor under fire while serving with the Canadian Army Medical Corps in France and Germany during World War II. She worked for St. Joseph's Hospital from 1953 to 1963. Surviving are her husband, Louis; children, Regis, Ann and Michael; four sisters, Evelyn Roach, Doris Laffin, Rene Mac Adam, Hilda McKinnon; and six brothers, John, Wilfred, Ronald, Gordon, Steve & Fr. Leonard McKinnon. Scripture services were in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 3140 N. 51st Ave. Mass was in the church. Northwest Mortuary. The Arizona Republic Wednesday, October 8, 1980.

DELMA, Joseph

Joseph Delma, a carpenter and plumber, died March 23, 1980, in the San Carlos Hospital. Mr. Delma lived here all his life. Survivors include a daughter, Denise; four brothers and a sister. Safford Funeral Home. 3/17/1980.

DEMBY, Fannie

Fannie Demby, 75, who lived in Arizona 30 years died March 10, 1980. Mrs. Demby is survived by her children, Evelyn Plumber, Elexive Lofton, Nollie Pervis, Mary Baker, Opal Jones, Miller Wilburn, Delma Branham, Frances Allen, Lervy, George, Glen and Franklin Demby; 48 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Demby were in First Pentecostal Church, 2701 E. Marguerite. 3/14/1980.
