RAKESTRAW, Ben

Ben A. Rakestraw, 71, a truck driver who came to Phoenix in 1952 from Illinois, died Oct. 7, 1980, in Olympia, Wash. He was born in Marietta, GA. Surviving are a son, Dvid; three grandchildren; three sisters and three brothers. Gravesides services were in Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 W. Beardsley. Friday, October 10, 1980.

RAMIREZ, Pablo F.

Tolleson -- Pablo F. Ramirez, 83, died Jan. 23, 1980, in Maryvale Hospital. He moved to Arizona 26 years ago from Texas and had been a farm worker. Wife, Maria Luisa; sons, Manuel and Ramon; a sister and eight grandchildren. Rosary and Mass were in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 312 N. 93rd Ave. 1/25/1980.

RAND, Warren L., Jr.

Glendale -- Services for Warren L. Rand, Jr., 54, who lived in Arizona 29 years and had been a drywall installer, were in Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 N. 59th Ave. Mr. Rand, 5547 W. Gardenia, died March 12, 1980, in Good Samaritan Hospital. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Rand, and a brother. 3/13/1980.

RASMUSSEN, Natalie M.

Services for Natalie M. Rasmussen, 95, were in Brookfield, Wisconsin. A.L. Moore & Sons Mortuary, 333 W. Adams. Mrs. Rasmussen, 4635 N. 14th St. moved here in 1968 from Ohio and died Jan. 22, 1980, in a Phoenix hospital. She is survived by her son, John; and four grandchildren. RAUSCH, George A.

Scottsdale -- George A. Rausch, 65, a former Civil Service employee for the Army, died March 25, 1980. Mr. Rausch moved here in 1977 from Virginia. He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II. Wife, Grace P., and two sisters, Dorothy Lyles of Colo. Springs, and Margaret Wilson of Denver, survive. Services were in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. 3/29/1980.

Sun City -- James A. Redburn, 77, a motel owner in Michigan and Baptist church member, died Jan. 22, 1980. He moved here in 1967 from Lapeer, Michigan. Wife, Katherine A., and three sisters survive. 1/25/1980.

REED, Howard H.

Sun City -- Howard H. reed, 73, who graduated from West Point Military Academy and retired as an Air Force colonel in 1949, died Jan. 24, 1980, at Kings Inn. He moved to Arizona four years ago from North Andover, Mass. Survived by children, Katherine Senterfit and Sherwood C. Reed; and five grandchildren. Published 1/30/1980.

REED, Kirsten Jo

Kirsten Jo Reed, 20, an Arcadia High School graduate who was working as a model in Los Angeles, died of cerebral aneurysm in the emergency room of Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital March 15, 1980. She was born in Phoenix. Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Omer K. Reed; a sister; three brothers; and grandmother, Mrs. M. Freiden. Services at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. 3/17/1980.

REED, Lonnie

Lonnie Reed, 48, an auto mechanic, died Oct. 3, 1980, in Phoenix General Hospital. Mr. Reed moved to Arizona in 1950 from Texas. Wife, Ella, children, Mary and Curtis; a brother and four grandchildren. Services and interment were in Hugo, Oklahoma. Oct. 9, 1980.

REED, William P.

Glendale -- William P. Reed, 45, a self-employed carpenter who came here 12 years ago from Indiana, died Jan. 27, 1980. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. Surviving are his wife, Shirley; children, Cindy Pole, Sherri Blakeley, Susan and William E. and three grandchildren. Published 1/30/1980.

Basil J. Regan, 74, who had been an advertising salesman, died Mar. 29, 1980, in Phoenix General Hospital. Mr. Regan came here from Detroit ten years ago and was a member of Knights of Columbus. Wife, Helen; children, Mary L. Emerson, June Wilson, Brian, Myron and Dennis; and 14 grandchildren. Mass was in Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 3220 W. Greenway. 3/30/1980.

May Idabelle Reichert, 69, who came here 55 years ago from Oklahoma, died Mar 14, 1980, in her home. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Reichert is survived by a son, Adron; a sister; and two brothers. 3/16/1980.

REILLY, Emmett Vincent

Emmett Vincent Reilly, 58, who moved to Arizona 19 years ago from his native Ohio, died March 12, 1980. Mr. Reilly had been a real estate appraiser. He was a World War II veteran and a member of Phoenix Moose Lodge 708. Messinger Mortuary. Interment Paradise Memorial Gardens. 3/15/1980.

REMPET, Ewald, H.

Sun City -- Ewald H. Rempet, 79, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, who was a winter visitor for the past nine years, died Oct. 3, 1980, in Boswell Hospital. Mr. Rempet was a retired chief engineer for Mountain States Telephone. Survivors include daughters, Audrey Manley, Denver; Verna Johnson, Littleton, CO; Darlene Sorensen, Cheyenne, Wyoming; and nine grandchildren. Interment in Denver, Colorado.

RENOX, Clarence D.

Sun City -- Clarence D. Renox, 74, a retired railroad conductor, moved here in 1971 from Detroit and died Jan. 27, 1980, in Boswell Hospital. Wife, Marguarite; children, Joan O'Bierne, Judith Kaminski, Ellen Nold and Gary; four sisters and 10 grandchildren. Mass was in St. Clement Catholic Church, 15800 N. REYNOLDS, Maggie E.

Maggie E. Reynolds, 92, who moved here 46 years ago from Moundsville, West Virginia, died March 25, 1980, in a Phoenix hospital. Mrs. Reynolds was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. She is survived by a son, Clarence W., and six grandchildren. 3/27/1980.

RHODES, Oried V.

Peoria -- Services for Oried V. Rhodes, 80, who owned a farm before retiring here in 1964 from Modesto, Calif., were in Heritage Funeral Chapel, 13226 N. 113th Ave., Youngtown. Mr. Rhodes died Sept. 28, 1980, in Boswell Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Rosie May; children, Levettia Dunham, John C. and Raydean; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Winslow -- Faye Rhoton, 67, a Colorado native, died March 24, 1980, at her home. Mrs. Rhoton moved here in 1923. She was a retired clerk and former operator of an Indian curio store. Survivors include a son, Sheridan; a brother; four sisters; and three grandchildren. 3/29/1980.

RICHARDS, Ruth L.

Mesa -- Ruth L. Richards, 79, who had been a public health nurse in Iowa and California before retiring here 11 years ago. Miss Richards died March 12, 1980, in Mesa Lutheran Hospital. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. A sister, Grace Trimble, survives. Melcher Mission Chapel. 3/14/1980.

RICHTER, Erich Lee

Glendale -- Services for Erich Lee Richter, 71, a retired hotel manager who died Oct. 2, 1980, in Phoenix Veterans Hospital, were in Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 N. 59th Ave. Mr. Richter, 5325 W. Butler, was a World War II Navy veteran. He was born in Newport, R.I., and came here in 1974 from California. A brother, Walter, survives. The Arizona Republic Saturday, October 4, 1980.

RICKARD, Colleen M.

Colleen M. Rickard, 28, who was born in Phoenix, died Oct. 4, 1980, in Good Samaritan Hospital. She is survived by children, Christopher and Timothy; father, Edward Rickard; mother, Zita Rickard; two sisters and grandmothers. 5 Oct 1980.

RIDENOUR, Patricia

Mesa -- Patricia Ridenour, 43, who came here from her native Michigan in 1975, died Oct. 4, 1980, in Mesa General Hospital. Husband, Francis; daughter, Catherine, Amy, Lori, Anna, Deborah and Linda; stepchildren, Terrie, Sheryl, Shelley, Lesia, Vern and Samuel; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Baldwin; five grandchildren; two sisters and five brothers. RIDER, Orville E.

Wickenburg -- Orville E. Rider, 69, a winter visitor from Montana, died Mar 14, 1980, in Boswell Hospital, Sun City. Mr. Rider retired as a heavy equipment operator in Montana. Survived by his wife, Marian; children, Rosella Mohr, Burn Ace Inman and Donald McIntosh; six sisters and a brother. Private cremation. 3/16/1980.

RIDING, Mary Frances

Mesa -- Services for Mary Frances Riding, 84, who died Jan. 21, 1980, in a Phoenix hospital, were in Meldrum Mortuary, Macdonald and First Street. Mrs. Ridling, 535 S. Alma School, lived in Arizona 16 years and is survived by her children Rubye C. Roberts and Alvin J. Thomas Edward Rinaldi, 54, a civil engineer the past 15 years, died March 12, 1980, in Phoenix Veterans Hospital. Mr. Rinaldi was a veteran of World War II and the Korea conflict. He moved here in 1976 from Toledo, Ohio. Survivors include his sons, Michael D. and Tim. 3/14/1980.

RISK, Emily C.

Rosary for Emily C. Risk, 70, was in Glendale Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 N. 59th Ave. Mass was in Sts. Simon & Jude Cathedral, 6351 N. 27th Ave. Mrs. Risk, 8429 N. 27th Ave., died March 12, 1980, in her home. She came here in 1976 from Chicago and was a member of Catholic Order of Foresters. Surviving are a son, Richard; two grandchildren; a sister and a brother. The Arizona Republic Thursday, March 13, 1980.

ROACH, Helen M.

Chandler -- Helen M. Roach, 89, a 40-year resident who came to Arizona in 1914 from Mattoon, IL, died March 15, 1980. She taught elementary schools in Winslow, Florence and Chandler. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University and was a past matron of Eastern Star and was an honorary member of Chandler Masonic Lodge. She is survived by a niece and three nephews.
