Wish any information on my Grandfather Lewis KEMP. Lewis was married to Bessie BURNS. They had three children, Ray, Grayce and my father, Harold. My dad was born in Bethesda, Ohio on April 24, 1911. This is all the information I have.

Don't know whether anyone is interested, but I am ALMOST complete with my history of RUFUS DEMING/DEMMING/DAMON/DAMAN, at least as far as I can go right now, and his migration across the country starting with his birth in 1792, moving to Belmont and Athens Counties, Ohio, his two marriages there and his 4 children; then the move to Quincy, Ilinois, and his two more marriages; then his move to Lake County, California following his daughter Est(h)er and her husband John Cobb; his move to Napa County and another marriage and then his death in 1880 in San Luis Obispo, California. Busy man! I have 25 plus pages of information on him. Quincy, Illinois wants to publish this in their Genealogical Journal. I could send it to Ohio too if anyone is interested. John Eckman WILSON married Nancy Jane WHALEY on June 3, 1833 at Belmont Co., OH. They lived in Union Township until the mid 1850s then moved to IA. John was a son of Thomas WILSON and Elizabeth ECKMAN who may also have been in Belmont Co. John had two brothers Thomas WILSON, who may have married Mary RICHARDS, and Clark WILSON. John Eckman Wilson, b. 1805 in PA, married Nancy Jane Whaley on June 3, 1833 in Belmont Co., OH. John was a son of Thomas Wilson and Elizabeth Eckman. John had two brothers Thomas and Clark. Thomas may have married Mary Richards.

SHIVERS (b. 12 Dec 1835, Harrison Co.; d. 16 Feb 1906, Cadiz Twp., Harrison Co. & buried Cadiz Cem.). He served in Civil War and both received pensions for the same. He lived near near St. Clairsville for 6 months prior to entering the service on Aug 1862. Two (2) known children: (1) Hannah Elizabeth (Lizzie) JUMPS (b. Sep 1857, Cadiz Twp., Harrison Co.; d. 1921 & buried Union Cemetery, Cadiz) married in Harrison Co. on 26 Jul 1883 to John GRIMES (b. Apr 1857; d. 25 Feb 1925 & buried Union Cemetery, Cadiz). (2) Samuel H. JUMPS (b. 9 Feb 1859, Cadiz, d. 20 Oct 1933, Uhrichsville, Tuscarwas Co., OH & buried Union Cemetery, Uhrichsville) married in Tuscarwas Co. on 9 Oct 1886 to Ada SCOTT (b. 26 Sep 1864, OH; d. 19 Feb 1923 & buried Union Cemetery, Uhrichsville). Immigrated to the US in 1863 with three kids: Hiram b. May 1857 Hannah b. 1858 Harriot b. 1862 who married a Morgan. Later the family lived in Wheeling, WV and had three more kids: Edward b. Looking for any info on this family. Thomas W. Durban/Durbin born 5-9-1892 in Jefferson county, Ohio, died 11-8-1974. Married a Edna Blanche Walters born 12-31-1893 in Belmont county, Ohio, died 1964. They married on 2-23-1916 in Belmont county, Ohio. They are both buried at the Bend Fork Cemetery in Belmont county, Ohio. They have three children buried with them but they have many that may still be alive and very old. The three that are buried with them: Hazel L. Durbin born 1919, died 2000. Clyde W. born 1918, died 1919. Clyde William Durban born 8-11-1916, died 8-14-1917. Thomas Durban/Durbin has three siblings but only two of them are buried at the Bend Fork Cemetery: Lizzie (Fitch) and Minnie Belle (Fitch). His other sister Alice Ann (White) is buried in Yorkville, Ohio, Upland Heights Cemetery. I am looking for any information on Peter Laffer/Lauffer/Lafer/Lofer, married to Sarah Palmer in Belmont County around 1810. Peter died in a boat explosion on the Ohio River june, 1816 and supposedly was buried in Belmont County although he died near Marietta Ohio on the Ohio River.
