AULT, FORTNEY, LOY, WILLIAMS, MCMAHON, CALHOUN, REED, WEEKLY, WHITE, MCKAIN, BOWMAN - I am looking for ancestors and descendants of Frederick F. AULT, born about 1812 in Belmont County, to Johan Jacob AULT & Elizabeth FORTNEY. Frederick married Elizabeth LOY in Belmont County 7-6-1834. I am also searching for the connections this family had with the Calhouns and Reeds of Pennsylvania, namely Noble CALHOUN and Nancy REED, who settled in Jackson County, Indiana. The marriage of Daniel C. CALHOUN and Mary Ann AULT is an important missing link. This family was connected also to the George WILLIAMS family. George WILLIAMS died in Belmont County in 1850. At least two of his children, George WILLIAMS (b 1817 in Belmont Co.) and Sarah WILLIAMS (born 1802) married to William MCKAIN, came to Jackson County Indiana around the time of the elder's death. The names WEEKLY, WHITE, MCMAHON, BOWMAN are part of this circle as well. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

STEVENS, YOUNG posted by Gary E. Young on Tuesday, August 5, 1997

John and Sarah (STEVENS) YOUNG were married in 1827 in Goshen township, Belmont Co., Ohio, and had a daughter named Mary YOUNG,  born ca 1829. The family were living in Westland township,  Guernsey Co., Ohio in 1850. Mary was still in the household.  Does anyone know who she married or where she migrated to?  Tradition says she "joined the Mormons&@croquot;.  Her parents moved to Carroll Co., Mo. about 1852.  I cannot identify a marriage for her in either Guernsey County or in Carroll Co., Mo.,  but there are marriages for women named Mary Young in the area of Guernsey County.

YOUNG posted by Gary E. Young on Tuesday, August 5, 1997

Trying to locate a son of John Young of Belmont and Guernsey Counties, Ohio, by the name of Solomon YOUNG or Absalom YOUNG.  He was apparently born ca 1820 to 1827.  He is not with the John YOUNG family in the 1850 census so had apparently left Guernsey County before 1850.   Descendants of John Young are uncertain whether his given name was Solomon or Absalom Young.

MANLEY, MANLY posted by Kathy Manley Nystrom on Tuesday, August 26, 1997

MANLEY - MANLY I'm searching for the parents of Rev. John Manly born in 1789 in VA (unknown county) and died in Henry Co., TN in 1831.  Our family legend was that seven brothers arrived in Ohio from Ireland.  If the legend is true, the Manly line obviously went on to Virginia, then Tennessee, then Texas. Richard Manly is a known brother (also born in VA.) I've found a William Manly in Kirtlan, Geauga Co., Ohio in the 1830 Ohio census index.  The name William carried on through the generations. Although likely not Rev. John Manly's father, finding more information about William could speed up my search and help me determine if in fact the family started out in Ohio. Other Manley/Manly's in the census were found in Adams Co. (Isaac Manley- another family name), Ashtabula Co. (J. Manley and W. Manley), Belmont Co. (John Manly) plus Nelson, Freedom, Hiram, Harrison Counties.  I need to know if any of these are related to my Virginia born Rev. John Manly. Any information would be very much appreciated.  My thanks in advance.
