The White Family (2)
William White was the father of Henry White later found in Virginia. We do not believe that he immigrated to America.
Henry White Sr. was born about 1615. He was a cooper and lived in the Isle of Wight County, Virginia, having been in America at least as early as 1644. (Jamestowne)
On 20 August 1644 Edward Wilmot assigned all his rights to the land to Henry White, and on 27 August 1647, Henry White assigned all his interest to George Stephens.
In 1653, William and George Worsman of Henrico County, Virginia, were given land for the transportation of Henry White to America. This may be the same Henry White who was in Virginia at least as early as 1644, since land was frequently not patented to those who paid passage until sometime later.
In addition to the James City County, land above described, Henry White (1) patented 250 acres of land, and Henry White (2) patented 750 acres of land, or a total of 1000 acres next to Thomas Stamp and John Harvey in the Isle of Wight County, Virginia, as follows:
750 acres in a small creek called Corawatucks that falls in Kecoughtanke river, beginning toward the head of same, running West, Northwest, etc. Dated September 25 1663. For the transportation of 14 persons.
The following quotations concerning the social conditions in Virginia could apply to either or both Henry Whites, Sr. or Jr.
. . . within two years the militant tactics of the sect made clear the issue and in March 1659-60, the Assembly passed a bill for suppressing the Quakers. Henry Boston, Thomas Leatherbury, Henry White, Ambrose Dixon, William Colbourne, John Hale, and Mr. Denwood, were among those presented to the Northampton Court for breach of law concerning Quakers, some being fined, and some left to the mercy of the Governor and Council.Henry White, Sr. married Rebecca Arnold, about 163-. He died 1669/70, and his will mentions a wife, Elener, (Probably his second wife) and a son Arnull.
It was dated 14 November 1669, and proved 16 May 1670

No further record of him is in the Quaker records. He was a farmer and is found in Henry County, Indiana, in 1850, as shown in the Census. There was no wife with him at that time, and since his will refers to his wife, Mary, it is to be assumed that he was married a third time.
His will was dated 3 September 1870, and recorded in Will Book E, page 67, at New Castle, Henry County, Virginia
