Sylvia A. Walden, 88, of 522 Habersham Rd., Duff, died Saturday,
April 7, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Campbell County. She was of the
Penecostal faith. She was preceded in death by husband Floyd Walden; son Everett
Walden; daughter Rita Wilson; brother Daniel Garrell; and sister Susie Kitts.
She is survived by son John Walden of LaFollette; daughter Leona Miller of
LaFollette; and 24 grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday, April 9,
in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Wade Walls officiating.
Interment was held in the Walden Cemetery.

Lee Walker, -Born July 23, 1924. Deceased this life June
10, 1972 at the age of 47 years, 11 months, and 17 days. He was united in
holy matrimony to Roberta Blankenship. To this union was born four
children, two of which preceded him in death. To mourn his absence, he
leaves his wife Roberta Walker, son Leon Walker, daughter Reba Jean Walker; all
of Elk Valley. He also leaves five brothers; John Walker of LaFollette,
Tennessee, Joe Walker of Indianapolis, Indiana, Russell Walker of LaFollette,
Tennessee, David Walker of Jellico Tennessee, and Henry Walker of Jellico,
Tennessee, and two sisters, Carrie Walker of LaFollette, Tennessee and Patsy
Walker of Jellico, Tennessee. He professed a hope in Christ and was
baptized into the Lick Fork Baptist Church on March 26, 1972, where he remained
a faithful member until death. The Lord Hearkened and heard it and a book
of remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the Lord and thought
upon his name. "And they shall be mine," saith the Lord of hosts, "in that
day when I shall make up my jewels." Malachi 3-16.

Willie Walker, 91, of LaFollette, died Friday, April 6, at Lake
City Health Care Center. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the chapel of
Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Hobert McCreary officiating. Interment was
held in the Johnson Memorial Park in Pikeville, Ky. Martin Wilson Funeral Home
of LaFollette was in charge of arrangements.

Mary T. Wallace, 85, of LaFollette, died Friday, April 6. She was
preceded in death by husband Willie Wallace; parents R.S. and Millie Tackett;
brothers Henry and Luther Tackett. She is survived by daughter Rosetta Chapman;
sons Earl, Robert, Jay, Eugene, Ricky, Roger, and Vance Wallace; brothers Audren
and Arlie Tackett; sister Ann Ward; 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Sunday at Cross Chapel with Rev. Houston Carroll
officiating. Interment was held in the Red Hill Cemetery. Cross Funeral home was
in charge of arrangements.

Crissy Celisa and Casey Lisa Ward, infant daughters of Cecil and
Rosa Green Ward died Wednesday, April 4, at the Ft. Sanders Medical
Center in Knoxville. They are survived by parents Cecil and Rosa Green
Wars’ sister Nicole Ward all of LaFollette; grandparents and
great-grandparents. Funeral services were held on graveside services were held
on Saturday, April 7, in Kitts Cemetery with Rev. Joby Byrge and rev. Jimmy

Winnie Ward, age 75 of Caryville died Sept. 19 at the St. Mary's
Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of the Red Oak Baptist
Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed
spending time with her family and friends. She also loved to sew.She was
preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paris Ward; sons, Ricky and Timmy Ward;
parents, Rev. Matthew and Bell E. Phillips Duncan; brothers, Albert, Harvey and
Jimmy Duncan; sisters, Polly Seibers, Ellen Byrge, and Mary Wilson.She is
survived by her son, Paris Ward of LaFollette; daughter, Dorothy Williams of
Jacksboro; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral Services were Sept. 21
in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. James Adkins officiating.

Brother Of Former Lake Citian Killed
The brother of a former Lake Citian was killed in Temple, Texas
on November 8 in a car wreck. Estel Wesson, 42, brother of Mrs. Donald
Ford who formerly lived in Lake City but now in Lafollette, was killed instantly
when his car struck the rear of a tractor-trailer truck in
Texas.

Ben White, a nineteen year old young man, brother to Pete White
of College Hill, and Lewis White of Mt. Nash, Ky. His mother also lives at Mt.
Nash, died in a Nashville hospital Friday. The body was sent here Saturday
morning. The funeral was at one o'clock at Cedar Hill Church Sunday and he was
laid to rest by his father in the Gross graveyard. During the funeral great
excitement prevailed in the church for a few minutes when Re. R.W. Cooper who
had read a chapter and prayer had been offered and had started to preach when he
suddenly became ill in the pulpit and was carried from the church to a waiting
car which took him to his home. Rev. Cooper has greatly
improved.

Road,Clinton,died April 9 in the home of her sister. She was of the Jehovah
Witness faith.Mrs.White was born Nov.25,1904 in Union County. According to her
family,she enjoyed crocheting and flowers.She had worked several years in the
restaurant business.Her husband,Tommy White,and brothers,Charles Ford and Ernest
Hill preceded her in death.Survivors include a sister,Pearl Jones of
Clinton, a brother and sister-in-law,Henry and Evelyn Ford of Dayton,Ohio,and
several nieces and nephews.Services were Tuesday in the Cox Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev.Edwin Phillips officiating.Burial was in Sulphur Springs
Cemetery.

Gladys Widener, 80, of LaFollette, died Saturday, Feb. 10, at St.
Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a lifelong member of the
Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husband Silas
Widener of LaFollette; son Henry Davis of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga. She is survived by
daughter Kathy Crosslin of Atlanta; step-sister Luola Ayers of LaFollette; and
four grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at the
Indiana Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Pitin officiating. Interment was

Edward Wilson, 72, of Altus,Oklahoma died Saturday, April 9,
2005, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, Altus, Oklahoma. Memorial
services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2005, at Faith
Lutheran Church with B.J. Armstrong officiating. Arrangements are under the
direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Mr. Wilson's ashes will be intered in
the Altus Cemetery. Edward was born October 20, 1932, in LaFollette, Tenn.,
to McKinley and Daisy Reed, Wilson. He married Alice Jackson on July 12,
1954, in Braintree, Essex County, England. To this union five children were
born. He joined the United States Air Force and served his country proudly.
He worked as an instructor for the Fire Protection Field and eventually
retired at the rank of staff sergeant. Edward was a loving husband, father,
grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed fishing and bowling and his
two "Poms," Benji and Bear. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He
was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Goins, and Gaynelle
Wilson; and four brothers, Joe, Clyde, James, and Bill. He is survived by
his wife of over 50 years, Alice of the home; his son, Donald S. Wilson of
Altus; four daughters, Deborah Fehr of Burkburnett, Texas, Cheryl Callander
of Burnsville, Minn., Donna Y. McGowan of Silverton, Texas, and Gaynell
Beers of Fairborn, Ohio; a sister, Betty Kish and husband Bill
of Cedarville, Mich.; two brothers, Thomas Wilson and wife Barbara of
Colony, Texas, and Kenneth George and wife Diane of Douglasville, Ga;
grandchildren, Dionne Pchelins of Tampa, Fla., Darren Zdanowski of Dallas,

Grace Williamson, , 74, of Rt. 3 died suddenly Tuesday evening at
the LaFollette Community Hospital. She was a member of the Protestant Church.

June Crutchfield of Norwood, Ohio, Mrs. Nance Coble of Los Angeles, CA; three

Clara Oileen Wilson, age 84 of LaFollette died Sept. 25 at the
St. Mary's Health and Rehab Center of Campbell County. She was a member of the
Independent Missionary Baptist Church. She loved to spend time with family and
friends. She enjoyed flowers and sewing as her hobbies. She was preceded in
death by her parents, Arthur and Betty Chadwick Hatmaker; brothers: Ed, Lawrence
and Raymond Hatmaker; sisters: Mae Benson, Susie Ogle, Mary Sharp, and Edna
Moffett. She is survived by her daughters, Doris and husband, Richard Beach of

Juanita Naomi May Wilson, age 79 went home to be with the Lord on
Sept. 19 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville. She was the fourth child born
to Frank and Laura May.She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Wilma
and Elmer Cole of Hixson, Rissa and Alvin Ward of Jacksboro, Dodie and Wally
Reed, of LaFollette, Doris and George Stanfield of LaFollette; nine
grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; sister, Frankie Hatmaker of Baltimore,
MD; brother, Bobby May of Jacksboro; several nieces, nephews and extended family
and friends. Memorial services will be held Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. at the Jacksboro
First Baptist Church; the receiving of friends will begin at 7 p.m. In order to
help others her last wishes were to have her body donated to UT Medical Science.

Ramsey Wilson, age 83, of Jacksboro, departed this life Saturday
September 18, 1999. Mr. Wilson was a member and Deacon of Round Rock Baptist
Church. Mr. Wilson was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and
great-grandfather who loved to spend time with his family and friends. Mr.
Wilson was a member of the U.M.W.A. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his
parents, Ike and Mary Tackett Wilson. Mr. Wilson is survived by wife of 60

morning at the Baptist Hospital in Knoxville. He was a member of the Chaskey

September 2, 2004 at the Lake Bridge Nursing Home in Johnson City. She was a
lifetime member of the Jacksboro United Methodist Church. She was a member of
AARP having retired from teaching after 29 years. She was preceded in death by
husband: John William Woodson on July 23, 1971; daughter: Helen Wilson on July
23, 1975 and parents: Ezra and Mattie Delap Daugherty. Mrs. Woodson is survived
by 2 grandchildren: Lisa Jane Lee and Nora Ann Wilson; great grandchildren:
Jessica Desha Bowling, Danna Sierra and Lindsy Marie Lee; brother: EB Daugherty
of Chicago, IL; sisters: Evelyn Daugherty of East Bernstat, KY, Sherry Daugherty
