Luther Barton Badron, 77, died March 4 at Jellico Municipal
Hospital. He is survived by two daughters Mrs. J. M. Hatfield and Mrs. William
Allen both of Lafollette one son, Lewis Badron also of Lafollette one brother
Austin Badron of Pensacola Fla., 14 grandchildren and 10 great grand children
several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at
2 p.m. Tuesday at Walters Chapel by the Rev. Bill Hembree. Burial ws in Bakers
Forge Cemetery. Walters Funeral Home, Lafollette was in charge of arrangements.

Minerva Baird, -Born April 11, 1876, died Jan. 19, 1962.
She professed a hope in Christ when she was a young girl and united with the
church about 26 years ago. She was a faithful member. She is
survived by one daughter, Mrs. Sarah Phillips of Corbin, Ky.; one sister, Mrs.
Bessie Baker of Elk Valley, Tennessee. Two brothers, George Gibson of
Knoxville and Albert Gibson of Elk Valley, Tennessee and nine grand children and
12 great-grand children and three great great grandchildren and a host of
friends and relatives.
April 9,1994 John David Baxter Jr.,55,of Andersonville died
Saturday night in Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Mr.Baxter,a veteran of
the Army,was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Powell.He was employee of the
Knoxville News-Sentinel and former employee of Dempster Brothers,with 28 years
service. Survivors include his wife,Delores Seiber Baxter,son and
daughter-in-law,John and Mary Lou Baxter of Irving,Texas.,father-in-law and
mother-in-law,Fred and Leora Seiber,brother,Robert Baxter of Knoxville, sisters,
Ann Hatmaker of Heiskell and Morgan Childs of Harriman. Services were Tuesday in
Temple Baptist Church with pastor Clarence Sexton and son,the Rev.Matt Sexton
officiating.Weaver's Cumberland Memorial Chapel was in charge of
arrangements.

Beets,81,the widow of J.D.Beets,died at 2:50p.m.Monday at her home on Clinton
Rt.4 Funeral services were held at 3p.m.Wednesday at the Farmer Grove Baptist of
which she was a member with the Rev.Luther Wilson and the Rev.Wayne
Province officiating.Burial was in the Zion Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home of
Clinton in charge.Survivors include one son,Fred Beets Clinton Rt.4,brother, Lon

Irvin Braden,63,Former Squire,Dies Irvin Braden,63,for 20
years a Funeral Director at Martin Funeral Home in Lake City,died of a heart
attack Friday morning after he went to work.He resided at 604 Church St.in Lake
City.Braden was elected a member of Anderson County Court on Aug.5,194? and
served one term.He also served on the Lake City Board of Mayor and Commission
from 1961 to 1963,in charge of the department of safety.Earlier employment was
with Cambria Coal Co.at Briceville and as a sercurity gyard in Oak Ridge.Braden
belonged to Cystal Lodge ?? F&A.M. at Briceville.He was a deacon at Main
Street Baptist Church.Services were at 3p.m.Sunday at his church with the
Rev.Edsel West officiating. Burial was in Sulphur Springs Cemetery.He leaves his
wife,Mrs.Josephine Goodykootz Braden,a son,Rex Braden of Boise,Idaho.,three
daughters,Mrs.Robert(Lucille)Foust of Clinton,Mrs.Loy(Noleeka)Marshall of

Brother Samuel Brantley was born October 22 1867. Died February
4th 1935. Brother Brantley professed a hope in his youthful days and about
January 1894 He joined the Primative Baptist Church at Mossey Springs and lived
a faithful member until death. Brother Brantley was public in prayer. He leaves
a widow, six sons three daughters and a host of brethen and friends to mourn.
But we have the evidence that our loss is his gain.

D.K. Bridges, -Was born the third day of March, 1879 and passed
away November 6, 1962. He was married to Linda Freels the 26th day of
April, 1900, to this union was born 13 children, 9 of the children and his
companion preceded him in death. He professed a hope in Christ and joined
the Capuchine Church and remained a member of that church till 1949, then
bringing his letter to Lick Fork Church where he remained a faithful member
until death. He leaves 3 daughters, Nola Lowe, Knoxville, Flora Wells and
Clara Jeffers of Clinton, one son, Andy Bridges of Elk Valley, 11 grandchildren,
16 great-grandchildren.
Esley Bridges, -69, of Elk Valley, passed away early Wednesday
morning at Jellico Municipal Hospital. Retired lumber worker and a member
of Elk Fork Baptist Church, where he was trustee for 40 years.
Survivors: wife, Mrs. Sylvia Bridges of Elk Valley; five daughters, Mrs.
Velma Long of Elk Valley, Mrs. Geneva Marcum of Pioneer, Mrs. Lois Antrian of
Knoxville, Mrs. Ruby Baird of Ohio, Mrs. Nellie Neal of Pioneer; five brothers,
Kelly of Oneida, Virgil of Jellico, Eckley of Elk Valley, Verdie of Kentucky,

parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lonzo Bullock, last Tuesday afternoon, after a short
illness. The family lived near Coal Creek. Surviving are; the parents, Mr.and

8, at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a member of the Round
Baptist Church. Mr. Bullock was preceded in death by parents Hobert and Tasie
McKamey Bullock. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Bullock of
LaFollette; sons Adam Bullock of Caryville, Joey William Bullock of LaFollette,
and Franklin Reynolds of Mich.; daughters Crystal Gail Seiber of
Caryville, Jessica Rose Bullock and Hope Renae Bullock, both of Lafollette,
and Anna Hatfield of Eagen; brothers Archie Bullock of Halls, Arlie Bullock
of Powell, and Larry and Ellis Bullock, both of Caryville; sisters Alice Loy of
Clinton, Haley Bullock and Pernice Bullock of Caryville, and Pearl Phillips of
Powell; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Sunday, Feb. 11,

Church,conducted by Rev. John Paul .Burial was in the Bunch cemetery near
Rosedale.Martin was in charge.
Brother D.W. Bundren was born January 1 1886 professed faith in
Christ at an early age and joined the Church at Salem June 1905 and was ordained
a deacon and held that office till death. A wife seven children, the church and
a host of friends survive him.
