Mrs. Gertrude Daniels of Briceville passed away Monday morning
in Jenkins, Kentucky, where she was visiting a son. She would have been 67 on
November 22.Survivors are six daughters Mrs. Margaret West of Norfolk, Virginia
Mrs. Mae Sparkman of Jewel Ridge, Virginia Mrs. Mary Sparkman of Richlands,
Virginia Mrs. Helen Coan of Lynch, Kentucky, Mrs. Minnie Banks of Gary, Indiana,
Mrs. Betty McKnight of Gary, Indiana; five sons Bill of Jenkins; C.J. of
Lafollette Bobby of Lake City, Allen of Norfolk, Virginia and James of the U.S.
Army, Fort Knox, Ky., twenty seven grand children and four great grand children;
two sisters Mrs. Charlie Harmon of Lake City, Mrs. Mae Cartwright of
Chattanooga, Tn ; niece Mrs. Nell Paul of Lake City.

Wiley Day, 81, of 528 Coolidge Rd., LaFollette, died Wednesday,
April 4, at the St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County. He was a member of
the Murrayville Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was
preceded in death by wife Myrtle Day; parents John and Stella Wilson Day;
brothers Alex and Willie Day; sister Irene Carroll. He is survived by son Eddie
R. Day; daughters Jeraldine Polson, Jean Chapman, and Carolyn Walden; brother
John Day; sister Delphia Hughett all of LaFollette; 12 grandchildren and 25
great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the chapel of Martin Wilson
funeral Home with Rev. Don Whited and Rev. Darryl Mefford officiating. Interment
was held in Campbell Memorial Gardens. Martin Wilson Funeral Home of LaFollette
was in charge of arrangements.

William Kieth Dill, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. William Kelley
Dill of Lake City passed away Wednesday at St. Marys Hospital in Knoxville.
Survivors are the parents and the grand parents Mr. and Mrs. Tom White of
Briceville and Mr. and Mrs. William Clyde Dill of McKenzie, Tn., Graveside
services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at Leach Cemetery with the Rev. Ben Baird
officiating Martins of Lake City in charge.

January 23, 1951 Rev. Samuel H. Disney, 81, retired minister, died early
today at the home of his son, Owen Disney in Muddy, he had been in failing
health for seven years and had been seriously ill for three weeks with
complications. Mr. Disney was born in Tennessee, April 18, 1869, the son of
Elisha and Nancy Andrews Disney. He came to Saline county from Beach Grove.
Tenn., and has since made his home in Muddy. He has been a Baptist minister for
42 years. Besides his son. Owen, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah
Disney, a son, Earl Disney, Whiting, Ind., a dauhter, Mrs. Dan Powell, Detroit,
20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A son, Pola, was killed in a mine
accident in 1939 and a daughter, Mrs. Marvel Stoval, died in 1929. Funeral
services will be held at the Muddy Baptist church of which he was a member.
Definite arrangements have not been announced. The body, received by the
Harrisburg funeral home, has been returned to the Disney residence to lie in

Edith L. Douglas, -age 66 years, 9 months, 25 days, passed away
Tuesday afternoon at Brown County Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio, formerly of Elk
Valley, Tenn. She was a member of Elk Fork Baptist Church. She is
survived by one son, Charles Douglas of Norwood, Ohio, three daughters, Mrs. Fay
cook of Bethel, Ohio; Miss Dela Mae Douglas of Elk Valley and Mrs. Ina Chiathom
of Knoxville, Tenn. We feel that our loss is heavens gain. The West

Thomas M. Douglas 64 of Jellico died at Jellico Clinic Manday at
9 a.m. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Judy Hale Douglas two daughters Miss
Betty Douglas of Jellico and Mrs. Christine Pack of Duff his son Joe Douglas of
Jellico his brother Minton Douglas of Jellico and one grandchild. Funeral
Services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Crouches Creek Baptist Church by the
Rev. Ralph Leach. Burial was in Douglas Cemetery. Ellison Funeral Home Jellico
was in charge of arrangements.

Samuel O Duncan Passes Away at 68
Samuel O Duncan of Clinton, Route # 2, formerly of Briceville,
passed away Tuesday, November 24, at East Tennessee Tuberculosis Hospital at the
age of 68. Survivors are the wife, Mrs. Sarah Mulkey Duncan, one daughter Mrs.
Donna Fay Angel of Harvey, Illinois.Funeral services were held Thursday,
November 26 at 3 p.m. at Clinch River Baptist Church with the Rev. W.H. Beets,
and the Rev. George Delozier and the Rev. D.L. Phillips officiating. Burial was
in Sunset Cemetery. Martin Funeral home of Lake City was in charge.
