for many surnames to which any interested researcher may contribute family Bible
records or other useful research information. Obituaries and biographical
articles from Knoxville newspapers have been clipped and filed in "Biography"
files from the 1920s to the present, although these are not complete. A database
of obituaries in Knoxville newspapers was started in 1991 and is ongoing. The
"Genealogists' Exchange" contains requests for assistance with genealogical
questions from many of the thousands of researchers who have used the McClung
Collection in the past few years. Anyone using the Collection is welcome to add
cards to these files, stating research needs or
