CORNWALL, HATHAWAY posted by Joanna Whitesel on Thursday, September 13, 2007
My name is Joanna M Finster-Whitesel, and my Great Great Grandmother was married to John Hathaway dob 08 Oct 1828 from Geauga, OH. He was her second husband. My GGGrandfather John Cornwell and he apparently were friends and he died in the Sultana Steamboat accident in 1865 and he told him to take care of her. I would like to locate information about his family. So far I believe (through rumor) that his family or just him (Im not sure) moved from Geauga to Wood County when he was approximately 7 yrs old. The census records that are that old don't reveal any names of children like they do from approx 1850 on. Any help would be much appreciated.

MATTISON, WRIGHT posted by Diantha Neinfeldt on Saturday, November 15, 2008
Mattison/Wright: I am looking for the parents, or any other information on Charles Mattison who married Hannah Wright (unsure if this is maiden name) on 23rd of Sept, 1838. Their eldest child, my ggrandfather, was Henry Janus Mattison, born 27th, Oct, 1839 in Geauga County. In 1850, they had an Elizabeth Wright living in the household, possibly a child by a previous marriage? Or a niece? There were three other younger females in the household. Charles died between the 1850 census and Hannah's remarriage in 1854. Henry, his stepfather, mother and two sisters came to Wisconsin, settling for a time in Dane Co., and then Henry came north to Juneau Co, and his parents left for Iowa. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Diantha Neinfeldt/Wisconsin

CONREY, CONROY, FLYNN posted by Jeff Bader on Friday, January 9, 2009
My brick wall is gg-grandfather John Conrey and wife Ellen Flynn. John is reported to have been born around 1826 in County Waterford, Ireland. He married Ellen (b. ~ 1828) about 1856 and she died around 1861. Both are reported to be buried in Chagrin Falls. I assume they were married in Ohio. I have no records or proof of the above, just family lore. They had at least two children, Patrick (b. 1857 Ohio) and Ellen Cecilia (b. 1859 Chagrin Falls, Ohio). Patrick and Ellen Cecilia (Cecilia is her middle name) are both buried in Akron, Ohio. I'm descended from Ellen Cecilia. Ellen Flynn's parents are Edmond Flynn and Catherine Lahey born and died in County Waterford, Ireland. Ellen had a sister Margaret and a brother Michael. The spelling is really Conrey which is an uncommon spelling. I have seen it misspelled 'Conroy' which is much tougher to research. I would love to find hard facts on these ancestors and where they are buried. My real goal is to visit their gravesite with my father and uncle before it is too late. Any help you can give or names to contact would be appreciated. I don't know anything about Chagrin Falls and where to start my research. Not sure if Geauga County is the correct place to start. Luckily, I live nearby in Akron and can meet easily if necessary. Jeff Bader 2377 Berrywood Dr. Akron, Ohio 44333 330-666-5534 [email protected]
