SMITH, THROCKMORTON, BUNDY I am researching the Throckmorton family that lived in Geauga County. According to her obit, Sarah Melissa SMITH (b. 03 Aug 1844) grew up in Huntsville. Charles and Sarah Melissa SMITH THROCKMORTON moved back to Huntsville around 1870. They had children: William Burton, Glenn Eugene, Frank and Minnie (McCoy.) Charles was drown 10 Mar 1879 near Rome, OH. In the 1880 census Melissa was living with her brother Charles SMITH and the children were scattered. One lived with the Peter DAVIS family and another with the Henry WALES family. I an interested in finding if the DAVIS and WALES families are related to Melissa in some way. Melissa parents were Nehemiah and Lucy Reed Smith from NY. I would welcome any information anyone might have on them. Melissa remarried a man Leartus BUNDY. I have yet to find who his parents are, can someone could help on that? I am Melissa's greatgranddaughter and would be very happy to exchange information with some Smiths or Throckmortons that might still be in the area. Thank you! Ann (Throck)Morton Maxson

JONES posted by Ken Jones on Saturday, February 14, 1998

I am trying to locate the parents of James Riley JONES, my great-grandfather. He enlisted in the Civil War from Jackson, MI. He was born April 15, 1845, his parents were of English and Welsh descent. His early Civil War papers list him as being born in Geauga Co. His Pension papers list him as being born in Painesville, Ohio which I understand is in Lake Cty. However, Lake Cty has no record of him in their census reports. I believe his father was a James Jones B. 1818 from England but am not sure. Any help or leads would be appreciated. Thank you.
