Looking for a connection between Ed and Pat Ellis of Parkman Ohio. I believe she (Pat) is the daughter of Fernley Shay Murdock, brother of my Grandfather Floyd Lavelle Murdock, Floyd and Fernley and siblings were born in Youngstown Ohio. They relocated to Cleveland Ohio. Fernley was born Sept 30, 1896 married Katherine Smith, had a son who died in Cleveland Heights. Fernley eventually retired and moved to Florida where he passed on in October 1964. In my Grandparents address book, Pat and Ed are noted and next to their name is written "neice." TIFFANY posted by Blaine Tiffany on Monday, November 29, 2004

My name is BLAINE A. TIFFANY and my gg grandfather was LEWIS TIFFANY b-1812NY d-1878-Newville, DeKalb, Indiana. Land records fron Dekalb County show a GEORGE, WARREN, DAVID AND RUSSEL TIFFANY owning land and living in Newville at the same time as LEWIS and his wife OLIVE (OVIATT). Ohio marriage and death records indicate that GEORGE and WARREN eventually moved to Chester, Geauga, Ohio and lived out the rest of their lives. DAVID and RUSSEL also moved from Indiana and spent time in Chester and Stow, Summit, Ohio. LEWIS also had connections to Ohio. My belief is that one of more these TIFFANY'S is (are) brothers to LEWIS. My objective is to trace my TIFFANY lineage beyond LEWIS. If you have any information concerning the above names that might help me find out who LEWIS'S parents were and where they came from...please relay to me by e-mail at [email protected]. Thank you, Blaine A. Tiffany

ANGEL, COOK, HITCHCOCK, SEYMOUR posted by Stephen B. Angel on Wednesday, January 19, 2005

I am a descendant of Peter Hitchcock and Abigail Cook Hitchcock, who arrived in Burton, Ohio from Cheshire, CT circa 1806. Peter Hitchcock was a lawyer who became a state legislator, a Congressman, an Ohio Supreme Court Justice, and finally Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court. His son Henry Hitchcock, who was a minister and president of Western Reserve Academy, is also an ancestor. Henry's daughter Sarah Melissa Hitchcock is my great-grandmother, marrying Thomas Day Seymour, whose daughter Elizabeth Day Seymour, married my grandfather, John Angel. I would like to find out the names and addresses, e-mail or otherwise, of other living descendants of Peter Hitchcock who, like me, live in Ohio. Any help you could give me is much appreciated.

BEECHER, SPERRY posted by Linda Osterhouse on Tuesday, February 15, 2005

I am searching for any information regarding Joseph Andrew Sperry (AKA Andrew Joseph) and his family. He was born in CT about 1809, the son of Joseph and Sarah (Beecher) Sperry and possibly died 28 June 1892 in Parkman, Geauga Co. OH. I believe he moved to Geauga and then was married around 1836 to Betsey ?? who was born about 1812 in CT. They had 3 children: Samantha Sperry Doty b. 5/15/1837, Alvah A. Sperry b. about 1839-1840, and Sarah A. Sperry Bundy b. about 1847. I would like to locate marriage and death information for Joseph and Betsey Sperry. Also, I need death information for Sarah (Beecher) Sperry who lived with son, Joseph & Betsey in Parkman according to the 1850 census (age 84). She supposedly died at his home. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Contact me at: [email protected] Linda Osterhouse

HINKSTON, YOUNG posted by Mark Young on Monday, March 28, 2005

I am seeking any and all information about the John Young located in the 1820 Census of Perry, Geauga County, Ohio. He is listed as being between 26-45 years old, wife 16-26 years old, a son under ten years old and three daughters under ten years of age. I believe this man to be the father of my 3rd r-grandfather Warner Young, but I need additional information to prove it. At this point, I know from Warner's death cert. that his father was John Young. I know from Warner's death cert & the 1900 census that he was born in March 1820. I know from Warner's daughter's death cert. that her father (Warner) was born in Perry, OH. Finally, I know from Warner's marriage cert. that he married to Adaline Tinney in Perry, Lake Co., OH in 1842 - two years after Lake County was formed from Geauga County. I searched through the 1820 census records for Ohio for any John Young with a son under ten years of age. This John Young seems to be the most logical choice to be the correct person. I did find a listing for a John Young b: 1792 d: 1859 wife Philura Hinkston in the Geauga County Ancestors Chart (member #347, 348 & 349) If anyone can help me locate information about this man I would be grateful. Sincerely, Mark Young

FOOTE, ROGERS posted by Shanna Steed on Tuesday, May 24, 2005

Looking for information for Davis Rogers, who is enumerated on the 1850 Census in Chardon, Geauga County. Davis Rogers was born in Connecticut aroun 1790 and was a basketmaker. His wife on the census was Martha, born 1785 in Vermont. Also listed is Martha J. Rogers, born 1825 in New York, and William D. Rogers, born 1840 in Ohio. I think Martha J. Rogers is my ancestor who later married Murray H. Foote. In 1860, Murray and Martha and their children were living in Trumbull, Ohio and the older Martha ( her mother?)was with them. I am trying to extend the Foote and Rogers lines to the next generation. Anyone know anything? Any connections to Gurdon Rogers and Harris Rogers?
