GUNSOLUS, GUNSOLY posted by Lucille Brown on Saturday, June 22, 2002
I am looking for any information on Peter Gonsoly. or Gunsolus. I found a Gonsoly in the 1830 census for Geagua county but that is the only place I have found him and hoping it may by my Peter Gunsolus. He came from NY somewhere between the time of 1800 to 1838. WE have lost him between this time zone and are grasping at straws. If anyone has anything about the Peter Gonsoly that could confirm this is not Peter Gunsolus please let me know. I don't know what records are available there in the 1830 time period. Would appreciate any info possible. Thanks. Lucille

JONES posted by Ken Jones on Sunday, June 23, 2002
I am seeking information on James Riley Jones b. April 2, 1845 Geauga County/Painesville. CW records note Geauga, pension requests note Painesville. However there is a dead end at Painesville. In Parkman Township there was a Jones Settlement circa 1840. It appears that Grandparents are taking in grandchildren but James R. is not among them. In 1860 he is living in Michigan as a farm hand for a family named Mount in Calhoun County. I am publishing a family history and would like to add info. about his parents but can't find them. Thanks.

MCGRAW, RICHMOND, SMITH posted by Eileen King on Wednesday, July 3, 2002
I am looking for additional information on my grandfather's family. My grandfather, Edward Richmond, was born in Burton January 11, 1901. From the story I remember when I was little, I believe the family lived next to where the library stands today. I've been able to find out that his father, Joseph Richmond (Richlieu?) was born in 1866 in France. He married Margaret McGraw and had a son Joseph Richmond born February 25, 1888. At some time after 1888, Joseph married Mary Smith. As far as I can tell the children from this marriage were Marie (1894-1908), Ralph (1896), Gertrude (1897-1990), Edward (1901-1977), Helen (1902-1971), Frank (1905-1967), Elizabeth (1907), and Paul (after 1907). Joseph died June 5, 1921 in the Grovewood area of Collinwood of Cleveland. He and a number of family members are buried in Mentor Cemetery. Mary died in December, 1940. They were members of St. Jerome's Church in Cleveland. I believe that my grandfather told me a story about playing with President Garfield's chauffer's children. This would explain the connection to Mentor. I haven't been able to locate any records that show they lived in Mentor, but obviously, it looks like they did. I'd really appreciate any information that could be added to what I've been able to find. I live so close and yet the information I've found is so limited. Trying to chase down a Mary Smith convinces me that my family is trying to hide from me!!!

BARKER, DUNWELL posted by Leslie Thomas on Saturday, July 27, 2002
Stephen Dunwell, wife Nancy apparently adopted or fostered two young boys, Maurice/Morris b. 1848 and Charles R. b. 1846 Barker, sons of Lucetta Lusk Rose. She had married a man by the name of Rose, died shortly afterwards and he apparently chose not to raise the boys. Their father John G. Barker apparently never married Lucetta, died in 1850 (just prior to the Newark, Niagara Co. New York census). Both boys ran away and joined the Civil War efforts, Union Army enlisting at Cleveland Ohio. Looking for more information regarding the DUNWELLs
