FLEMING, HOSMER posted by Malcolm Osmer on Sunday, February 16, 2003
Looking for the final resting place of Stephen Hosmer.Married 6/14/1819 in Parkman, OH. to Eleanor Fleming According to the History of Geauga & Lake Counties, on file in the Geauga Library, he was warned to leave town due to "feared pauperism". In 1821, he was warned again, but in 1822, his wife, Nellie, was warned, and the author made the unexplained comment, "One is sorry for Nellie". Nellie remarried in 1826 to Elle Hyde in Bristolville OH, and died there in 1857 at the age of 63. Is there an 1822 to 1825 record in Chardon of their divorce or a possible bar room brawl in which he was killed and buried in a paupers grave? Any and all information will be appreciated. Malcolm Osmer.
