First & Principally I recommend my soul to God who gave it and
my body to be buried in a decent Christian like manner and as
touching such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me
with after all my just debts paid I give demise and dispose of
in manner and form following (viz.)
I give and bequeath to my son John Bartholomew Dupuy thirty
pounds current money to be paid to him out of the profits of my
Estate as soon as it can be raised,
I give and bequeath to my son Peter Dupuy one negro girl called
Fann to him and his heirs forever,
I give and bequeath to my son James Dupuy half the tract of land
which I am now possessed with, I desire he may have it at the
lower end joining the lands of Abraham Forrest and Josiah
Hundley. I also give to my son James Dupuy one negro man called
Dick to him and his heirs forever.
I desire that the two negros (viz.) Agge and Eve with the
increase of their bodies that shall be after this date may be
kept in the care of my Executors and the profits of the said
negros to be disposed of to my daughter Ann Jackson as my
executors shall think proper & at the decease of my daughter Ann
Jackson I desire they may be equally divided between all her
children which I give to them and their heirs forever.
I lend to my daughter Martha Jackson one negro boy called Ned
and one negro girl called Fanny with the increase of her body
that shall be after this date which slaves I desire that my
daughter Martha Jackson and her husband may have the use of
during their natural lives and at their decease to be equally
divided between all her children.
I give and bequeath to my five grandchildren (viz.) Elijah
Hundley, Anthony Hundley, Charles Hundley, Ann Hundley,
Elizabeth Hundley, the sum of eighty pounds current money to be
equally divided between them as they arrive to lawful age or
married, provided that my aforesaid grandchildren do noquit
their right to a negro woman called June which is a slave now in
the possession of my son James Dupuy but in case any of my afore
mentioned grandchildren should die without heir of their body I
desire that what I leave them may be equally divided amongst all
the survivors.
I lend to my wife Judith Dupuy my plantation on which I now
dwell on with half the land I hold joining the said plantation
during her natural life and after her decease I desire it may
return to my son John Bartholomew Dupuy and his heirs forever.
I also lend my wife Judith Dupuy three negros (viz.) Tom, Joe
and Hannah during her natural life and at her decease I desire
it may return as follows (viz.): Negro Tom to my son John
Bartholomew Dupuy and his heirs forever and the other two
negros, Jo and Hannah I desire may be in the care of my
Executors for the maintenance of my daughter Judith Dupuy during
her natural life also Twenty Pounds current money a feather bed
& Furniture, a cow & calf all which I desire may be in the care
of my Executors to be disposed of by them to my daughter Judith
Dupuy as they shall think proper during her natural life and at
her decease I desire it may all be equally divided between all
her children lawfully begotten of her body and in case she
should die without lawful heirs of her body I desire it may
return to my three sons and their heirs forever.
I also lend to my wife Judith Dupuy all my books and household
furniture during her natural life and after her decease my just
debts and legacies paid what is left of the stock & household
stuff I desire it may be equally divided between all my children
also I desire that all my negros may continue in the care of my
Executors till my legacies are all raised, my will further is
that there be no appraisement of my estate by order of the court
and lastly I appoint my sons, John Bartholomew Dupuy, Peter
Dupuy & James Dupuy my whole and sole Executors of this my last
will and Testament hereby revoking, disannulling making void all
other wills by me made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this
twenty ninth day of June in the year of our Lord Christ one
thousand seven hundred & seventy three.

At a court held in Amelia County the 25th day of September 1777,
this the last will and testament of Peter Dupuy Sr. dec'd was
exhibited into court and proven by the oaths of two of the
witnesses thereto subscribed and was ordered to be recorded. And
on the motion of Peter Dupuy and James Dupuy two of the
executors therein named who made oath and together with Bartlett
Baugh and Bartholomew Dupuy their securities entered into and
acknowledged their bond in the penalty of £ 3000 conditioned
according to law certificate is granted them for obtaining
probate of the will in due form.

And at another court held for said county the 28th of June 1827.
On the motion of Taplin Akin by his attorney, ordered that the
said estate of Peter Dupuy, Sr., the Executor now deceased, be
committed to the hands of Richard Eggleston Sheriff of this
county as administrator, and that he administer the same
according to law.

Know all men by these presents that we Peter Dupuy, James Dupuy,
Bartlet Baugh and Bartholomew Dupuy are held and firmly bound to
Edmund Bocker Peter R. Pland & Peter Lamkin and Thomas Mumford
Gentlemen Justices of Court of Amelia County now selling in the
sum of three thousand pounds to the payment whereof, well and
truly to be made tot he said justices and their successors we
bind ourselves, and each of us, our and each of our heirs
Executors and Administrators jointly and severally firmly be
these presents sealed with our seals this 25th day of September
in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy
seven.
The Condition of this obligation is such that if the above bound
Peter Dupuy and James Dupuy Executors of Peter Dupuy Deceased,
do make or cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all
and singular the goods, Chattels & Credits of the said Deceased
which have or shall come to the hands possession or knowledge of
them the said Peter & James or into the hands and possession of
any other person or persons for them the said Peter & James and
the same to exhibit or cause to be exhibited into the County
court of Amelia County at such time as to them shall be
thereunto required by the said Court and the some goods and
Chattels & credits and all other the goods Chattels and Credits
of the said deceased at the time of his death which at any time
after shall come to the hands of possession of the said Peter &
James or unto the hands or possession of any other person or
persons for them do well and truly administer according to law
and farther to make a just and true account of their acting &
doing therein when thereto required by the said court and also
shall well and truly pay and deliver all the legacies contained
and specified in the said Testament as far as the said goods
Chattels & Credits will thereunto extend and the law shall
charge them this obligation to be void and of no effect of else
to remain in full force.
