per Malcolm Britt [email protected] 2002-02-05 "Researching LDS files I believe John Brit(t) is the son of John Brit born and married to Mary Champ in Clewer, Berkshire, Eng. According to the LDS files John was born on Sept 2 1733 in Clewer Eng. Other sibling were James Brit and William Brit. John 's brother William b.March 7, 1736 and James b.May 2, 1734 were also the sons of John Brit and Mary Champ m.October 27,1730 in Clewer. I believe John Brit and William Brit both emigrated to Goochland Co Va. John Brit married Winifred Conolly and William married Hannah Conolly. James apparently stayed in England as no records have been found indicating he came to the USA." [S1840]

Received pension starting in 1836 lived in Gloucester Co. Virginia.
"On some searches you see for Lucy Rhodes they claim she was born in 1731/32. Also will say her parents were John Rhodes and Ann Payne. Anne Payne died in the 1740's, I believe. By the documents I have, I would say she was born closer to 1752. She died in the 1842. Her husband Capt Robert died in 1813. If our Lucy was born in the 1730s she would have died at the ripe old age of about 115 and would not have had James until she was about 55. I do not think so. It is just the wrong Lucy Rhodes."
