I, Richard Gregory, being of perfect mind and memory do make
this my last will and testament and revoking and disnulling
every other will or wills before made by me. And first of all
I give to my wife Anne Gregory, the Plantation whereon I now
live; and the first choice of two negro slaves; and also as many
of the cattle and hogs and sheep as she think fit and one horse
such as she may choose and all the rest of the household
furniture during her natural life.
Second, also I give unto my grandson Uriah Sandifer Gregory one
negro by the name of Stephan, and one feather bed and one horse
namely a blushing stud colt that he has now in his possession,
and also
to divide equally with my nine children in each division of my
estate. Whereas my children have had their equal parts to this
time hereinafter mentioned:
Smith Gregory, John Gregory, William Gregory, Uriah Gregory,
Abel Gregory, Asa Gregory, Godfrey Gregory, Polly Letching, and
Leroy Gregory with which my grandson Uriah Gregory equally to
inherit and share in all the remainders of my estate except and
then my will is that
my son Leroy Gregory have the sixty acres of land wich he is now
possessed of lying and being the south side of the plantation
which I now live.
And I also constitute and appoint my two sons Godfrey Gregory
and Leroy Gregory and my son-in-law Randie Letching the
executors of my estate.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my
seal this fifth day of September One thousand Eight Hundred and
Twelve.

At a county court begun and held for Wash.C. on Monday the 12th
day of May, 1817 this last will and testament of Richard Gregory
deceased, was proved by the oaths of William Moody and Beriman
Hatchett two of the sub-scribing witnesses thereto and ordered
to be recorded and on the motion of Godfrey Gregory one of the
executors therein named he having made oath and with John Thomas
and Patrick Morgan his securities, executed and acknowledged
bond in the penalty of seven thousand dollards conditioned as
the law directs. A certificate is granted him for obtaining a
probate through thereof in due form. And leave is reserved that
the other executors therein named to join in the probate thereof
when they think it.

Aug 1849, Washington County, Kentucky.
