Mary their daughter was born June 4 1769
Benjamin Wilson their son was born Sept 6 1773
Jesse their son was b. February 10 1776
Hannah their daughter was born June 11 1779
Mathusalem Griffith was married to Lucretia Rees in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 2 Feb 1730 at Christ Church . The
listing shows her name as Lyky Reece.
(Pa Archives, Second Series, Volume VIII, page 116).Mathusalem
Griffith and family moved sometime during the next fourteen
years to Augusta County, Virginia, as his name is found at a
list of buyers at Daniel Monahan's estate sale on 13 December
1744 (Will Book One, Augusta County, VA, pg 89).
Mathusalem Griffith's Will is recorded in Augusta County, Va,
where he died in 1749/50 ( Augusta Co VA Wills, Page 239; Will
dated 11 Sept 1749; proven 22 May 1750).
His daughter Lucretia Griffith, born 18 June 1742 married James
Wilson. His dates of birth and death are unknown (See Bible
record above).
James Wilson's sons and daughters are listed also in the bible
record.
Sons Benjamin Wilson (born 1773) and Jesse Wilson (born 1776)
are on the Anderson County Tennessee tax list of 1802.
The boys' sister Hannah Wilson (born 1779) is also in Anderson
County in 1802, married to Thomas Frost Jr.
We think another sister, either Mary ( born 1769) or Lucretia
(born 1767) is also in Anderson Co in 1802, as the wife of Joel
Hancock, but this has not yet been proven.
The other sisters, Elizabeth (Mrs. Jehu Lawler) and Ann (Nancy,
Mrs. John Baker we believe) may be there also at one time. Most
of the children ended up in Madison County, Alabama by 1810.
Then Benj and Jesse and Hannah moved about 1816 to Shelby
County, Alabama. Benjamin Wilson married Hannah Harless,
daughter of Henry Harless Sr, another Anderson County resident
on the 1802 tax list.

"Only a few names appear in the land records for this region as
early as 1742, but in determining the location of the residences
of the men enrolled in Capt. George Robinson's Company of
Militia of that date we find that all of them lived south of
James River, a part on the branches of the James and the rest on
the "Roan Oak." We have here, then, the vanguard of the western
migration at that period.
1742. Among these first men we find George Robinson, the captain
of the company; James Rentfroe, a sergeant; Daniel Maughnahan,
Mark Coal, Peter Renfroe, Henry Stiles, John Askins, James Coal,
Bryan Cuff, Simon Acres, John Meason, William Acres, Tasker
Tosh, Henry Brown, Samuel Brown, James Burk, Mark Evins, William
Bean, Samuel Martin, Peter Kinder, Stephen Evins, Stephen Ranfro
(Rentfroe), William Bradshaw, John Coal, William Craven,
Nicholas Horseford." (This passage cited another work,
Chalkley's Abstracts, Volume 2, page 509, from Draper Mss).
"At Daniel Monahan's sale held on December 13, 1744, there were
present many individuals not mentioned in earlier
records:--James Price, Charles Ewing, John Thomas, William
Armstrong, William Carson, William Mills, Methusalem Griffith,
Tobias Bright, Archibald Grimes, Daniel Creely, George Barber,
John McFall, William March, Jasper Terry, Joseph Love, William
Terry, James Davis." (This passage cites Chalkley's Abstracts,
Volume 3, page 9, Sale
bill).-----------------------------------------------------------
