His will dated Jan 25, 1816 mentions wife Mary, children:
George, Thomas, Jannet Dick, Mary McCottry, Elizabeth Gotea,
Sarah McConnell; also John Gotea.
James McConnell to Thomas McConnell - deed to a piece of land
March 25, 1809. "Mary McConnell, the wife of the within named
James McConnell". Signed "Mary M. McConnell". Deed book A -
page 376. (Thomas was James' son by his first marriage.)
After the death of James McConnell, agreements among the heirs
convey "all our rights, title, etc in the said plantation
whereon James McConnell resided...containing one thousand, five
hundred acres....Book C - page 208. This was formerly Baxter
land, but at least a part of it was purchased.
John, James, Hugh and Thomas McConnell served in General
Marion's Brigade during the Revolution. (p 116)
