"The Muscoe family was originally of Italian origin. Salvator
Muscoe Sr., was originally from Italy and was a stone cutter by
trade. He had move to London, England after the great fire of
1666 destroyed much of the city. His skill as a stone cutter was
employed in the rebuilding of the city and he worked under the
direction of Sir Christopher Wren in the construction of St.
Paul's Cathedral. Salvator Muscoe Sr. immigrated from London to
Virginia in about 1685 and was a neighbor of the Garnett
families then living in the colony."
