St. Gabriel's Hospital, Little Falls, Morrison County, Minnesota.

3 His obituary appeared and read as follows:
"Gust Schendell, a pioneer and highly respected citizen of this place, passed away at St. Gabriel's hospital last Thursday morning after an illness from cancer of the stomach, aged 56 years and 7 months. He had been in his usual health until one week before his death. He is survived by his wife, one son, Wm. Schendell, who resides on a farm in Wisconsin, and three daughters, Miss Dorothea at home, Mrs. Emelia Meschke of Madison, Wis., and Mrs. Ladwig of Sheboygan, Mich., two brothers Chas., and Fred of Little Falls and one sister, Mrs. Woellert of Little Falls. He was born in Germany, coming to America with his parents when quite young. The family resided in Wisconsin for some time, coming to this place in 1891, where he has since resided. The funeral was held from St. Peter's Lutheran church Saturday at 2 o'clock p.m., and the body laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery. The family have the sympathy of many friends in their sad bereavement."
