Research Notes

She is probably related to J.F. Massy, who ran Massy Motors in Little Falls after buying the Ford Agency in 1942. "Mr. Massy first became associated with Ford products in 1915. He started as a mechanic for Mr. Berg. Later he became shop foreman and salesman, and eventually owner and operator of Ford Garage in July, 1942. In October, 1945, Mr. Massy purchased the present garage building from J. Leonard and immediately enlarged its capacity and stockroom. In December, 1947, Mr. Massy purchased the Tankar Station and adjoining lots at the corner of East Broadway and Second St. and immediately improved the grounds to the relief of neighbors and citizens. The Tankar lots were needed to take care of expanding business.
"Massy Motors, as Ford Dealer, has had a steady growth since 1942, when it had five employees, two of whom entered U.S. Armed Forces. In this centennial year of our community 12 men are listed on the payroll.
