Accepted provisionally as the wife of Gaspard Meyer. The death record in the register of deaths of French refugees at Lausanne identifies her as "Marie Meyer femme de Gaspard Chapellier de lieu de Molines dans la valle de Cairas". We think it likely that "chapellier" is Gaspard's occupation, and that his surname has been given for that of his wife.

Elizabeth Wheeler is living with this woman in the 1850 Brown Co., IL census, so she is assumed to be the mother of Elizabeth and the widow of Sidney.
Age at death listed as 60, newspaper account. Her maiden name may have been McKeracher. This is suggested by a deed dated 19 jan 1850 (vol. 22 p. 34) wherein Amos and Mary McDougall buy from Philip J. Bain, Eliza Bain, John McKeracher, Katherine McKeracher, and Lucretia McKeracher.
