     Margaret Cheyne was born, 20 December 1839, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.1

Margaret Cheyne was baptized in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, 29 December 1839, at East Church, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1833-1854, Page 139, "Dec'r 29th (1839) James Cheyne (580) Mason in Peterhead had a daughter, born 20th Dec'r, baptized and named Margaret (623), before congregation of the East Church.”.1

Margaret Chyne, James Chyne, Margret Chyne, George Chyne, Peter Beaton and John Beaton were listed as in the household of James Chyne on the 1841 Scotland Census, at Kirk Street, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was his daughter, age 1 and born in Aberdeenshire.2

James Cheyne, Margaret Cheyne, William Cheyne, John Cheyne, Alexander Cheyne and Christian Cheyne were listed as children in the household of James Cheyne and his wife, Margaret Cheyne on the 1851 Scotland Census, at Gateside, in Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was 11 years of age, a scholar, and born in Peterhead Parish.3

Margaret Cheyne was listed on the 1861 Scotland Census at Sandford Lodge, Landwood, in Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. Margaret was in the household of James Skelton, Esquire, Sheriff Substitute. She was a housemaid, age 21 and born in Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen.4

Margaret Cheyne married Francis Will 26 May 1863, in accordance with the procedures of the Established Church of Scotland, at Invernettie, in Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. Margaret Cheyne was listed on the marriage record as a 23 year old spinster, residing at Invernettie, Peterhead Parish. A James Cheyne witnessed the marriage, he was probably (995) a cousin. Her brother James was in New Zealand. Her parents were confirmed to have been as recorded herein.5

Margaret Will and her husband, Francis Will, were listed on the 1871 Scotland Census, at Wellwood, in Banchory Devenick Parish, Kincardine, Scotland. They were listed as the head of household and wife. Also present was a niece of Francis', Jessie Ann Gall, 10, scholar.. Margaret was 31 years old and born in Peterhead Parish.6
