Christian Cheyne was baptized in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, at Invernettie, in Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1833-1854, Pages 538 & 539 (110), [This entry was placed in the register considerably after the fact and with three other entries of the same family.] "1850 July 14th James Cheyne (580), Mason at Invernetty, and Margaret Beaton (621) his wife, had a daughter born, baptized & named Christian (627)”.1
