The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1833-1854, Page 102, "Oct'r 8th (1838) James Cheyne (580), Mason in Peterhead had a Son baptized named James Beaton (622) before Peter Beaton (1343) and John Copland (549).”.1
