"The royal descent of William Strother from Edward III King of
England is listed in Gary Boyd Roberts, The Royal Descents of
500 Immigrants, 1993, based on acceptance of same by Walter Lee
Sheppard, Jr, of the Descendants of the Illegitimate Sons and
Daughters of the Kings of England (NGS Quarterly, Vol 62, No 3,
Sep 1774, pp. 182-191). This was refuted by Neil D. Thompsom,
FASG, on 9 Jan 1993; there was no evidence that this William
Strother had ever married or had children."
Family stops because of an illegitimate birth and the records
were destroyed by the parents.
