Jane Watson, Jessie Watson, Margaret Watson, Agnes Watson and William Watson were listed as children in the household of William Watson and his wife, Agnes Watson on the 1871 Scotland Census, at Pitscow, in Lonmay Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was also listed as a scholar.6

Jane Watson, Jessie Watson, Margaret Watson, Agnes Watson and William Watson were listed as children in the household of William Watson on the 1881 Scotland Census, at Pitscow, in Kininmonth Quoad Sacra Parish of Lonmay, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was also listed as unmarried, age 22 years.7,8

Margaret Watson married William Cheyne 31 December 1885, in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, at Pitscow, in Kininmonth Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She as a farmer's daughter, spinster, aged 27 years and resided at Pitscow, Kininmonth. Her parent's were confirmed to be as recorded herein. P. Grant conducted the ceremony that was witnessed by George Ironside and Agnes Watson (11528), her sister.9,10,11,12

Margaret Cheyne and her husband, William Cheyne, were listed on the 1891 Scotland Census, at 82 Commerce Street, in Fraserburgh, Fraserburgh Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. They were listed as the head of household and wife. Also present listed as their children were, William W. Cheyne and Margaret H. Cheyne. In addition, a domestic servant, Amelia C. Penny, was also present.. She was 30 years of age and born in Kinninmouth Parish.10,13

Margaret Cheyne and her husband, William Cheyne, were listed on the 1901 Scotland Census, at Elm Bank, Grattan Place, in Fraserburgh, Fraserburgh Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. They were listed as the head of household and wife. Also present listed as their children were, William W. Cheyne, Margaret H. Cheyne and Cummine J. Cheyne. She was listed as 42 years of age and born in Lonmay Parish, Aberdeen.14,4

The attached is a studio portrait of the family of William Cheyne, draper, taken about 1910, in Fraserburgh, Fraserburgh Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. Left to right are Cummine John, William, Margaret Helen, Margaret nee Watson and William Watson Cheynes.16

An entry in Calendar of Confirmations and Inventories, 1917, reads as follows: Cheyne, William, Draper, Broad Street, Fraserburgh, residing at Elmbank, Gratten Place, there, died 18 June 1914, at latter place, testate. Confirmation granted at Aberdeen, 28 February, to Margaret Watson or Cheyne, Elmbank, aforesaid, his widow, Universal Legatory, and as such Executrix nominate under Will or Deed, dated 17 October 1900, and recorded in Court Books of Commissariot of Aberdeen, 23 February1917. Value of Estate £1789, 13s. 5d.17

Margaret Watson died 7 March 1947 senile cardio vascular degeneration, cerebral apoplexy, at Knock Croft in Old Deer Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. Her marriage to William Cheyne and her parents were confirmed to be as recorded herein. The recorder was her grandson William Morrison.18,19

Margaret Watson was buried, at Fraserburgh Cemetery, in Fraserburgh, Fraserburgh Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. A transcription of the monumental inscription reads, "CHEYNE, in loving memory of WILLIAM CHEYNE Draper who died 18th June 1914 aged 54 and his wife MARGARET WATSON who died 7th March 1947 aged 89"..20
