William Cheyne married Margaret Watson 31 December 1885, in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, at Pitscow, in Kininmonth Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was a journeyman draper, 26, and resided at 83 Charlotte Street, Fraserburgh. His parents were confirmed to be as recorded herein.7,8,9,10

William was 30 years of age and born in Methlick Parish.8,12

William Cheyne, draper, recorded the birth of his son, Cummine John Cheyne, on 24 June 1891, in 82 Commerce Street, Fraserburgh, Fraserburgh Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland; at 1:45 AM.13

William Cheyne died 18 June 1914 of nephritis which he had for 9 months, at Elm Bank, Grattan Place in Fraserburgh, Fraserburgh Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. His marriage to Margaret Watson and his parents were confirmed to be as recorded herein.17,10

William Cheyne was buried, at Fraserburgh Cemetery, in Fraserburgh, Fraserburgh Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. A transcription of the monumental inscription reads, "CHEYNE, in loving memory of WILLIAM CHEYNE Draper who died 18th June 1914 aged 54 and his wife MARGARET WATSON who died 7th March 1947 aged 89"..18

An entry in Calendar of Confirmations and Inventories, 1917, reads as follows: Cheyne, William, Draper, Broad Street, Fraserburgh, residing at Elmbank, Gratten Place, there, died 18 June 1914, at latter place, testate. Confirmation granted at Aberdeen, 28 February, to Margaret Watson or Cheyne, Elmbank, aforesaid, his widow, Universal Legatory, and as such Executrix nominate under Will or Deed, dated 17 October 1900, and recorded in Court Books of Commissariot of Aberdeen, 23 February1917. Value of Estate £1789, 13s. 5d.19
