     Alexander Cheyne was baptized in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, 14 October 1741, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1739-1819, Page 11, "October 14. 1741 Alex'r Cheyn (1266) Shoemaker in Peterhead had a Son baptis'd named Alexander (520); Thomas Robertfon & W'm Cheyn (1264) witnefses.”.1

The baptismal record of James Cheyne documented Alexander Cheyne as his father, 25 August 1761, at Cordes, in Lonmay Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Lonmay, 1758-1819, Page 12, "Aug't 25 (1761) Alexander Cheyne (520) in Cordes had a Son baptized James (984) Wit's Andrew (Simson?) & W'm Davidson y'r.”.2

Alexander Cheyne married Ann Croyl 1765, in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, in Rathen Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Marriages, Parish of Rathen, 1742-1819, Page 10, (no date) (1765) "Allex'r Chine (520) and Anne Croil (519).”.3

The baptismal record of William Cheyne documented Alexander Cheyne, in Rathen, as his father, 12 November 1767, in Rathen, Rathen Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Rathen, 1764-1790, Page 116 "Nov'r 12th (1767) Allex'r Chine (520) in Rathen had a Son baptized William (521) Geo Yool Wm Thomson witnefses”.4

Alexander Cheyne, in Nether Newton, witnessed the christening of his daughter, Elizabeth Cheyne, on 17 May 1769, at Nether Newton at Rathen Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Rathen, 1764-1790, Page 119 "May 17th (1769) Allex'r Chine (520) in Nether Newton had a dau'r baptiz: Called Elizabeth (522), Jas. Hunter, Geo. Yool in Rathen, witnefses.”.5

Alexander Cheyne, in Upper Newton, witnessed the christening of his daughter, Elizabeth Cheyne, on 3 February 1771, at Upper Newton at Rathen Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Rathen, 1764-1790, Page 123 "Feb'ry 3 (1771) Alex'r Cheyne (520) in Upper Newton had a daughter baptized called Elizabeth (513) in ______ of the congregation.”.6

Alexander Cheyne, in Rathen, witnessed the christening of his son, John Cheyne, on 12 June 1774, at Rathen, Rathen Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Rathen, 1764-1790, Page 132 "June 12th (1774) Alexander Cheyne (520) in Rathen had a son brought forth by his wife Ann Croyl (519), baptized and named John (523) in the presence of the Congregation”.7

Alexander Cheyne, deceased crofter, was listed on the death record as the father of the deceased John Cheyne, on 2 February 1858; at 3:15 AM, of asthma and general debility, no medical attendant lately.8
