Louisa A. Cheyne, Edith Cheyne, Grace M. Cheyne and Douglas G. Cheyne were listed as children in the household of Walter S. Cheyne and his wife, Fanny F. Cheyne on the 1891 Scotland Census, at 62 Bon Accord, in Aberdeen, Old Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. Edith was 6, born in Aberdeen and a scholar.1

Louisa A. Cheyne, Edith Cheyne, Grace M. Cheyne and Douglas G. Cheyne were listed as children in the household of Walter S. Cheyne and his wife, Fanny F. Cheyne on the 1901 Scotland Census, at 1 Bon Accord Square, in Aberdeen, Holburn, Old Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. Edith as listed as 16 years of age, born in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and a scholar.3

Edith Cheyne married Peter Smith 3 July 1920, in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, after banns, at West Parish Church, in Aberdeen, Saint Nicholas Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was a spinster, 35 years old, and resided at 1 Bonaccord Square, Aberdeen. The ceremony was officated by by A. W. S. Forbes, minister of the West Parish Church and witnessed by James B. Riddle (unknown), Louisa Cheyne (her sister), W. S. Cheyne (her father) and Wm. Smith (his brother). Her parents were confirmed to be as recorded herein.6,7

Edith was an art teacher.8

Attached are two photos of Grace Middleton, in her garden circa late 1930s and with her sister Edith Smith at an unknown location (Grace on right Edith next to her and the others unknown).9

Edith Cheyne died about 1976.10
