     William Barclay was born, 14 March 1844, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.1

William Barclay was baptized in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, 28 April 1844, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1833-1854, Page 214, "April 28th (1844) Peter Barclay (1348), Miller in Peterhead had a son born 14th March, baptized and named William (1350) before William Barclay & William Finnie.”.2

William Barclay, Margaret Barclay, Isabella Barclay and Alexander Bruce Barclay were listed as children in the household of Peter Barclay and his wife, Ann Barclay on the 1851 Scotland Census, at Saint Andrews Street, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was 7 years of age, born in Rathen Parish and a scholar.3

William Barclay, Isabella Barclay, Alexander Bruce Barclay and Elizabeth Hutton Barclay were listed as children in the household of Peter Barclay and his wife, Ann Barclay on the 1861 Scotland Census, at 5 Saint Andrews Street, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was 17 years of age, born in Peterhead Parish and a baker.4

William Barclay married Bathia Bisset after April 1871.5

He was unmarried, 25 yeas of age, born in Peterhead Parish and a journeyman baker.6

William Barclay listed on the 1881 British Census, at 8A Ronheads, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was head of household and a Seaman.5

William Barclay died 14 August 1881 at 5 AM, of phthisis for an unknown time, at 16 Kirk Street in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The death record listed him as thirty seven years of age, a baker and married to Bathia Bisset, who recorded the death. The married must have taken place after the 1871 census. His parents were confirmed to have been as herein recorded.7
