The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1833-1854, Page 214, "April 28th (1844) Peter Barclay (1348), Miller in Peterhead had a son born 14th March, baptized and named William (1350) before William Barclay & William Finnie.”.2

He was 7 years of age, born in Rathen Parish and a scholar.3
