He died in France before 20 nov 1639, leaving no valid testament, and so a division among his heirs was negotiated on that date, recorded by the notary Benoit Giraudet (ACV DL 50/1), and on the same day, the same notary recorded that Jean son of the late Balthazard Dutoit had received the dowry of his wife Anne Decrevel, sister of George.

The church record of her marriage says Agnele de Crista. The marriage contract recorded by Jean Jaqueri 05 nov 1564 is difficult to read, but appears to say Annelle Decrosta.
Secr�taire de ville at Moudon, 1592. Noted as "hospitalier" at Moudon, 1595. He and his wife will still living as of 1607, when they appeared as sponsors at a baptism in Moudon. His notarial registers cover dates 1610-1643, but there is at least one reference to his position as notary as early as 1598. There is also a baptism in the Deacon's Register at Moudon, 29 oct 1633, for Jacob son of Baltazard Decristaz. This might mean that Baltazard had remarried by that time, or else had an unrecorded son Baltazard.
Based on chronology, he is apparently the Claude Decristaz son of Guilliaulme Decristaz, bourgeois de Mouldon, who owned property with his brother Pierre about 1550 (cited in the terrier ACV Fn 343 fol. 315, where, on 15 jun 1593, the property was in the hands of Jaques Decristaz).
Conseiller de Moudon and Vidomne of Moudon at least as early as 1650. In 1635, the Vidomne was Anthoine Dutoit (father of Thomas and Jeanne), so it is tempting to think that the wife of Decristaz was another daughter of Antoine Dutoit and Susanne Masset. However, the daughter of Antoine and Susanne was still married to Pierre Corevon in 1652, while Marie Dutoit wife of Jean Decristaz is noted in the church records at Moudon and Curtilles from 1643 until at least 1660. She must be a different Marie!

Being recently deceased ("derni�rement d�c�d�"), he was replaced as a judge on the "cour de justice" at Moudon 23 apr 1662 by his son-in-law Noble David de Treytorrens.
