No explanation for the unique given name has been found. It sometimes looks more like Scheres. In 1620, she appears at a baptism in Moudon as the widow of the late Daniel Dutoit, under the spelling Scheyrez. The church records of Moudon in 1598 call her the daughter of N. (probably signifying Noble) Demierre of Montet, parish of Morlens (thus Montet [Glâne], Fribourg). Therefore, she is very likely the sister of the Claudaz, daughter of Claude Demierre of Montet who married Jaques son of Humbert Dutoit in 1612. Further, various statements about relationships in the Dutoit and Veyre families could possibly be explained if Schere later married Michel Veyre as his second wife. Among other relationships, her son Pierre, who married Jeanne Chevalley, appears with his "beaupère" Michel Veyre 20 feb 1633 (Jean Jayet, notary).
The confusion may possibly be resolved by the discovery that the wife of Michel Veyre, Catherine Genier, had previously been married to Jean Chevalley.
A different view of her name and relationships is provided in the terriers of the district of Rue (Canton of Fribourg). In a terrier from 1635 (AEF Grosses de Rue 24), she is repeatedly called Suaire Dymierre, and her father is named as Jean Dymierre. With further research, she can probably be placed in the very complicated Demierre family of Montet in the parish of Morlens.

Abraham Demierre, justicier, conseiller, and scholar of Moudon, was her nephew. If Abraham has been correctly identified as the son of Daniel, born 1657 (this identification supported, for example, by Maxime Reymond in the Lexikon), then Abraham's aunt Susanne, wife of Jean Ruchat, grandfather of the historian Abraham Ruchat, would have to be another daughter of Humbert Demierre. Could she have been born in the interval between the marriage of Humbert (1565) and the first entries in the register of baptisms at Moudon (1568)? If so, her son Jaques Ruchat would have been born no later than 1612, and so would have been 68 years old on the birth of his son Jean Jaques Abraham Ruchat, the minister and historian, in 1680, not impossible, but unlikely.
Humbert died before the baptism of his last child, Daniel Demierre, in 1586. The only gap in the baptisms for this family that is sufficiently large to support the existence of another daughter is between June, 1578 and April, 1581. If Susanne were born toward the end of 1579, we could move the birthdate of Jaques Ruchat forward as far as 1624, which still makes him 56 at the birth of Abraham Ruchat in 1680.
More research is needed to confirm these relationships. Among other facts that need to be established, we need a complete list of the children of Jean Ruchat. It is possible that the relationship of Abraham Ruchat to Abraham Demierre is incorrect, or that the parentage of Abraham Demierre is incorrect.

Death at age 88 in 1683 puts her birth date at about 1595.

In early records of Moudon, this family, all cordonniers, is identified as coming from Romont, and often called Deis alias Mont.
Name attested in various documents of Jaques Crausaz, but published genealogy calls him Jean. However, a document recorded by Eg. Isaac Dutoit 03 apr 1693 appears to call him Abraham Demierre.
[14250] Date of contract, Isaac Dutoit, notary, and another version recorded by Benoit Giraudet on the same date.
