He also served the congregation at the Pieter Stuyvesant Chapel near Manhattan's present Stuyvesant Square. In the Netherlands he was Domine at Waverveen, Utrecht from 1664 to 1682. On 30 Aug 1682 he became pastor of the Old Dutch Reformed Church on Manhattan where he served until his death in 1701.5
