Robert Cheyne was baptized in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, 5 June 1703, at Corbshill, in New Deer Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of New Deer, 1684-1726, Page 122, "May 31 Munday 1703, Alex'r Chyne (756) in Miln of Corbshill had a Son brought forth by his wife Jean Urquhart (760) & was baptized the 5 of June and named Robert (768). Godfathers Robert Cumin (4581) of Allathan, Robert Barnet (4589) in Slacks”.1
Robert Cheyne married Margaret Rind 19 September 1733, in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, in Fyvie Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Marriages, Parish of Fyvie, 1685-1763, Page 297/27 "September 19th (1733) Robert Chein and Margaret Rind (Reid?) both in this Parifh were orderlie married before Several witnefses."
Robert (768) probably was the groom. No children of the marriage could be identified. Other possible known Robert Cheynes for that marriage are numbers: 1763, 5429, 6588 or 9452.2 Robert Cheyne was a witness to the christening of his grand-nephew, Robert Cheyne, on 12 November 1749, at Burnhead at Fyvie Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Fyvie, 1685-1764, Page 51/233 "November 12th (1749) James Cheyn in Burnhead had a Child baptized called Rob't witnefses Rot. Cheyn (768) (grand-uncle of the child) & Alex'r Cheyn (823) (uncle of the child)"..3
