The baptismal record of James C. Cheyne documented Agnes Morrison as his mother, 21 August 1846, in North Georgetown, Beauharnois, Quebec, Canada. The baptismal entry reads "James Cheyne son of Andrew Cheyne, farmer, and of Agnes Morrison his wife both now residing in North Georgetown, county of Beauharnois was born on March Eighteenth One Thousand Eight Hundred and forty six and was baptized August Twenty first same year by James C. Muir, Min'r. (signed) Andrew Cheyne and Agnes Cheyne".7,8

Agnes Cheyne died 5 January 1898 of neuralgia, exhaustion and old age in Georgetown Township, Ottawa, Michigan, USA. She was a widow, first married at age 22 and had ten children all living.
