     Isabella Scott was born, 19 February 1844, in New Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. Her IGI birth record stated that her mother's surname was Stephen.1,2

Isabella Scott and William Scott were listed as children in the household of William Scott and his wife, Isabella Scott on the 1861 Scotland Census, at Ramshill, in New Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was 17 years old, born in New Machar Parish and a domestic servant.2

Isabella Scott married Alexander Cheyne 25 June 1870, in accordance with the procedures of the Free Church of Scotland, at Ramshill Elrick, in New Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The marriage record listed her as age twenty six years, a spinster and domestic servant, residing at Ramshill Elrick, New Machar Parish, Aberdeen. Her parents were confirmed to have been as herein recorded.3

Isabella Chene was a resident in the household of William Scott and his wife, Isabella Scott, on the 1871 Scotland Census, at Ram's Croft, in New Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was actually his daughter. She was married, 27 years old, born in New Machar Parish and an agricultural labourer's wife. Her husband was not present; he was at a farm elsewhere in the parish. Also present was her son, Alexander Chene (3489). He was properly identified as a grandson.4

Isabella Chyne and her husband, Alexander Chyne, were listed on the 1881 Scotland Census, at Ramshill, in New Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. They were listed as the head of household and wife. Also present listed as their children were, Alexander Chyne, Isabella Chyne, William Chyne, James Chyne, Margaret Chyne and George Chyne.5

On 11 March 1883. John Cheyne (14650) was the assumed son of Alexander Cheyne and Isabella Scott.6
