The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1833-1854, Page 419, "August 15th (1854) William Clark (3091), Labourer, Berryden and Elspet Cheyne (950), his wife, had a son born 8th, baptized and named Hugh (3376) before Arthur Boyes (3093) and William Lucas (4951)."1

Hugh Clark married Sarah Ritchie 26 November 1880, in Longside Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. After Banns according to the Forms of the Established Church Hugh Clark age 27, a bachelor, farm servant, living at Ardmachon, Parish of Cruden married Sarah Ritchie, age 19, a domestic servant, living at Cairngall, Parish of Longside. The ceremony was officiated by Robert Bushmy, Minister of Longside and witnesses were Alexander Ritchie and James Boyes. Hugh & Sarah had 12 children. After the death of his wife Sarah, Hugh married Margaret Wallace in 1916.4

Hugh Clark died 23 October 1936 "Mr. Hugh Clark, aged eighty-two years a crofter who lived at Wester Woodside Croft, Blackhill, near Peterhead, was found dead in a moss about four hundred yards from his home yesterday afternoon. Earlier in the day he had been visiting a house in the neighborbood, and it is thought that while returning he had a fatal seizure". at Blackhill in Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.5
