Also present were his children, Ann Clark and Elspet Clark. In addition, a step-son, James Murray, was also present. William was listed as 24 years of age and born in Caaor, Nairn.5

The baptismal record of Hugh Clark documented William Clark as his father, 15 August 1854, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1833-1854, Page 419, "August 15th (1854) William Clark (3091), Labourer, Berryden and Elspet Cheyne (950), his wife, had a son born 8th, baptized and named Hugh (3376) before Arthur Boyes (3093) and William Lucas (4951)."6
